We have a 54L (or quart, I'm not sure but it's big) igloo coolbox which is fantastic. The fastening clasp did break though a couple of years ago and I used a bungee rope to hold the lid down but I just discovered that I could buy the part I needed so I have now replaced that.

I usually cool it the night before a trip using frozen milk cartons so that I'm starting with a very cold inside. Recently we were away for 5 days and swapped over cool blocks once only whilst we were away. Everything inside stayed super chilled.

I think it costs about £65.

I have a Waeco cool ice. I cool it down the day before with frozen water bottles and have had 5 days of cold food without swapping cool blocks. I do limit the number of times I open it and store it between a couple of big plastic boxes so that it doesn't get the sun (what sun) on it.

It is very robust.

We do have a big Coleman extreme thing too that is about 15 years old which isn't bad but it wouldn't cool as long as the Waeco without swapping blocks. I bought the Waeco because the Coleman we have is just a bit too big.

We bought our 40l from Clas Olsen a couple of years ago. Plug it in to cool it down, a couple of ice blocks and an ice carton of juice kept it cool for a couple of days (also "charged" it in the car when we went out for day trips). Like the op, I limited the number of times I opened it.

Waeco cool ice owner here too. They are really good and much cheaper.

Not especially Blu ... but very functional and only £100 ish for a 42L.
