After going around the houses of endless research; seriously considering De Waards and various other options, we've only gone and bloody done it.

Oh yes, before the week is out, this badboy WILL BE IN MY POSSESSION! Excited doesn't even BEGIN to cover it...

Envy :o

Do you have a maiden voyage planned yet?

gardenfeature · 24/06/2014 05:51

Congratulations to the new parent! May it bring you joy and happiness. It's beautiful.

Slubberdegullion · 24/06/2014 07:29

Nice

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 07:38

Yes MrsFox off to the White Peaks this weekend, if I ever get my finger out and book it
Thank you Garden & Slubber it's nice to share with appreciative folk, IRL most people are like "yes Vivi that's lovely" while secretly thinking 'what's all the fuss about?' Grin

That's one hell of a tent!

CampingClaire · 24/06/2014 08:26

Congratulations!! I completely get it!! We finally got a DeWaard Albatross last year after lusting after one for ages!! it feels so nice when you finally pitch the tent of your dreams and see the look on other campers faces!!
Enjoy...and now you have all the fun of buying new gadgets for it too!!

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 08:37

Thank you Buzzard

CampingClaire oh the Albatross is a beaut, was definitely on our 'ones to consider' list. Then midway through our consideration process I found out I was pregnant and all of a sudden inflatable tents took on a whole new appeal!

"When you finally pitch the tent of your dreams and see the look on other campers faces" ahhhhh at the thought of that. We've had our trusty Lo-Gear for ever (feels like we've done our time) and this weekend are camping with friends taking their newly pimped classic camper. I'd have felt thourougly miserable were we still slumming it in leaky nylon. Grin

Our girls were finally old enough that we didn't need a multi room Outwell!! We only have one in the DeWaard with us now...the other is in USA all summer and probably won't holiday with us under canvas again - until she feels nostalgic or has run out of money!!
We still use the Maryland as our Scotland tent (midge free zip zones etc) and totally understand your 'inflatable when preggers' decision.
Slightly jealous of the friends with their camper - that's my dream vehicle when school runs no longer need to run up the mileage!!

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 08:47

Ah yes, suddenly #campingwithparents will become the coolest whimsical hashtag on instagram among her peers and you won't be able to get rid of her!

They've done a proper no-expense-spared bells and whistles refurb job on their camper, right down to co-ordinating piping on the leather upholstery. I've yet to see it in the flesh but I'm going to have to give our utilitarian T5 Transporter a gentle 'we still love you' pep talk as I've a feeling DH is going to lose his heart to the new VW on the block!

That looks fab and very like ours which I think is an Outwell Montana but doesn't have the side opening bit, two years old now, it's brilliant and we love it, you can sit inside and read if it's raining and we've had about ten others in it when we've been away with friends and are sitting up drinking chatting.

gertiegusset · 24/06/2014 08:58

DC still come camping with us if they can get the time off work, have a couple of smaller tents too for any stragglers, DD is gutted as she can't make her Dad's birthday week this year because she's moving and has work, she might manage a couple of nights with her BF.
DS will deffo come with GF and six month old baby.

Love it.

yellowdinosauragain · 24/06/2014 11:15

Fab tent :)

NettleTea · 24/06/2014 11:18

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 16:59

Very nice. You'll be the talk of the site Smile

headlesslambrini · 24/06/2014 18:44

Fuck me, how much!!!!

Although I have to say that I really like the green stripy material.

Obviously now you need matching chairs, cushions, blankets, plates, cups, carpet etc

Kerberos · 24/06/2014 19:14

That looks amazing.

We upgraded from our lo gear last year to a Kampa and never looked back.

ViviPru · 24/06/2014 19:58

headless we got a great deal from Outdoor Megastore, got the package with footprint and carpet for £1322. Still eye-watering, but I doubt we'll live to regret it... until we get repossessed

Bloody hell! I had no idea tents cost that much.

hz · 24/06/2014 20:21

Very sexy ViviPru. I predict many happy days and nights, with your nipper too. Congrats by the way! How will your hound cope with not being number one anymore I wonder....

gertiegusset · 24/06/2014 20:26

Camping's not a cheap holiday anymore, especially if you like a few home comforts like what we do I got these for Christmas from DiL Grin

We've got the Vango Maritsa 600 and it's ace! Love big tents. Loads of space and room to chill out even if the evenings get too cool for sitting out.

ViviPru · 26/06/2014 10:26

Wow cheshire that's a whopper! Brilliant. Let's hope we're still getting a use out of our tents this time next year!
