Camping

Can anyone recommend a campsite for next week, in the Central South/South East?

We live near Chichester and have 2 children 3.8 and 10 months. We just bought a new tent and would like a chance to use it this summer.

We don't want to go too far away. About an hour or hour and a half drive would be best. We're not fussed about the facilities and prefer campsites without onsite bars/pools. What is in the surrounding area is more important to us.

It obviously has to be somewhere not likely to be fully booked up. We're planning to go mid-week, next week.

Any suggestions would be gratefully receieved.

Might be too close, but managed a last-minute getaway last weekend at Fleet Farm on Hayling Island - had hoped to go to the New Forest but every single site was crammed.

It was fairly basic and rather caravan-heavy but loos were acceptable and there was a playground with slides etc. It's right on a tidal creek and a quick drive (we cycled) to the beach. We were only there for a weekend so didn't need Activities as such, so not sure what there is in the area.

Lower Tye, which is just down the road and run by the same people, is meant to be pretty good as well.
