Please make me feel like I'm not mad!

Not this time but I have been known to do exactly that. Went to climb Snowdon in march 2012 with my cousin. We had gorgeous sunny weather with the odd bit of rain. It pissed it down in the north where we live.

If you want to go camp, then go. Just pack sensible clothes. Its all swings and roundabouts really. Some folk are all what are you doing and others are all why the heck not....

We're doing 10 days (with a fire and EHU).

We are over the Easter weekend for three nights. With a fire pit but no EHU unfortunately - they had all gone Sad

We are trying out our new Vango Palena for the first time.

Can't wait!

I'm going to be brave & try out my new Kampa Croyde over the Easter break. We've got EHU & thermals, it'll be fine. April is hit & miss weather-wise, in Wales in 2010 we had to go & buy shorts & t-shirts as it was so hot!

I'm going to wait till the last minute to decide. No EHU just a campfire and thermals (hopefully shorts!).

Definitely hoping to, unless weather is dire....

I too am hoping that we will be able to fit a bit in. Am tempted to take a generator though!!!!!

Report
Moodykat · 20/03/2014 13:43

Should just add that we camp where there is no-one else so a generator will not annoy anyone else!

Yes we are off in the van with friends in their their tent.

It'll be ds 2's first trip camping - he'll be 6 weeks old (we must be mad!!)

Not mad, we sometimes have lovely weather at Easter and we've done it before. Still cold at night, take thermals, bed socks, woolly hats and hot water bottles for the kids plus a few extra blankets and they will sleep really well. Would help to go somewhere that allows fires as it can be cold just sitting around in the evening.

Last year it was lovely sunshine during the day but very cold at night - we were scraping ice off the inside of the windows Grin I perhaps might have suggested we cancel last year but we'd won a free weekend away and there was no way we weren't taking it!

We have ehu this year.

I am, hiking to a very basic site (has loos and a sink).
It's just me and 6 kids going so I may well be mad.

We're hoping to be staying on a site in Rutland Grin
If there's any availability - that is!!
Dd is 18 months and we'll be trying out her ready bed for the first time ....

I'm so excited! The weather forecast is looking pretty good and we hope to be going on Thursday for a few days. I think most places unless they are small and bespoke (glamping) should be fine for availability. Lots of people don't camp at Easter - or so I'm hoping!

Yes, I think we are taking the plunge too. Haven't booked yet but like you say I think it should be ok. Where you going hilbilly? I am torn betwnn Longthorn and Lower Milton, nr Wookey. At the moment weather looks slighlty better at Longthorns but I really like the look of the rope swings and stream at Lower Milton.....

Well we did go last week and had a wonderful time. Nights were chilly but we were prepared for that and the days sunny if cool in the wind. Didn't stop the kids having a blast on the beach

There were a fair amount of people there in tents and caravans, just wish we could've stayed longer!

We are just back, it was cold at night but we had a lovely time, cut it short due to the wind though

Hmm - off on Friday. Really looking forward to it but a bit worried about the cold at night with no EHU. We will be able to have a fire though so it will be ok until we go to bed. Might dig out some hot water bottles....

hz I'm playing it safe because I'm taking the children on my own for the first time and FW ticks all the boxes of friendliness, shop, cafe if needed and we all know the place like the back of our hands!

We were going but it' seems so cold at night I changed my mind.

I know where you are coming from Ledkr. I'm feeling a bit scared even though we'll be in a van. (No heating though.)
