Hi

Has anyone been to either of these campsites in Sussex/Kent? If so would you recommend them for a group of families with 5-8 year olds?

Thanks

Been to wowo as part of a class camping trip every year since the kids were in yr 1 (they're yr 6 now Shock ) Lots of places for the kids to explore but if you're a helicopter parent don't go, lots of middle class families ignoring their children.

Children love it, they get filthy in the streams and climb trees all day long. compost toilets take some getting used too

I have been to both and would recommend both. We are regulars at Forgewood and always have a great time although last year I felt a little hemmed in by large groups. However it's very friendly, the staff are great, the shop and cafe are handy and the facilities are clean and in good working order. I would like to return to Wowo (not sure why we have not done so). Both sites have forest school activities as well as good woods to play in with rope swings.

Happy Camping Smile

One more thing - at Forgewood you can camp in the woods or the fields.. Not sure about Wowo.

Thanks for the tips. I'm leaning towards Forgewood as I love the idea of camping in the woods. Are there more activities at WoWo or is it similar?

The camping at wowo in the woods is called the Tippi trail - and it's even more expensive! watch out camping in the woods, no sitting in the sun in the evening Grin
