Camping whilst 29/30 weeks pregnant

Have you done it? How did you find it?

We want to go camping between 25/05 and 06/09 but I'll be 29/30 weeks pregnant. We usually pick rural places and go walking but that will be out of the question so do you have any suggestions on sites to visit that have things to do nearby?

We live in West Yorkshire and would like to go a max of 1-2 hours from home.

I went at 36 weeks and it was fine. If anything I slept better than at home!

Some walking shouldn't be completely out of the question- just go for routes with a good pub half way!

Can't help with sites I'm afraid, we're in South Wales.

I'm intending to keep camping until 38 weeks (later if I can find sites near hospitals). I really can't see any reason why not so long as you have the right kit.

I did too, ds's where 2 and 18 months at the time so not much serious walking - I remember it being fine but sleeping on an airbed was uncomfortable...

I did at 34 weeks and was totally comfortable. Go for it.

I went camping at 28 weeks to Pinewoods in Well, North Norfolk. We slept on a double airbed and I took our proper bedlinen from home. I was fine, DSs 1&2 were both 3 at the time and we did lots of sandcastles, bbqs etc, nothing too strenuous.. It was lovely and I didn't really feel any different to being at home.

I did. The bump got in the way a bit - I'd hurt my knees and couldn't crawl, so ended up shuffling around on my bum in the tent. Had to lie on my side on far-too-thin mats and hips got a bit bruised-feeling.
otherwise it was fine!

Did a festival but a bit earlier in pregnancy. It was all fine I just had to bear in mind my energy levels and plan days accordingly.

Just take all your pillows so you can get comfy at night.

And a bucket with lid for night-time wees.

It should be fine - I went at around the same time in my pregnancy, and later in fact. A double height airbed might be a good idea so you don't have to struggle upright from too near the ground.

I definitely second a bucket for night time wees.

You may find you go to bed earlier than other people so earplugs may also be a good plan.
