Okay, thanks. All planned. No BBQ so just a two ring stove. Main trip next month will invoke camp fires, although we're looking at a Dutch oven too.

Slow cooked stew first night - to take with us and heat up, with bread.
Fish and chips at the beach second night.

Pancakes and bacon first breakfast. Variety pack cereal that DD is so excited about (holiday food only!).

Second breakfast - frankfurters (from a jar - terrible camping guilty pleasure. Don't know why, but DH and I have always had them as a camping breakfast!). Soft white hot dog rolls, fried onions.

However, I have seen some sausage-on-a-stick-with-dough-wrapped-round-it thing on Pinterest, so might have to investigate further.

sweet and sour veg with rice, pasta and sauce,

See pancakes is such a good idea I had to post twice! smile

We do fajitas too and frozen Bolognese. Also noodle stir fry - take ready to rook noodles and cook chicken / prawns with loads of veg. Yum.

Any one pot type thing works too.

We now have a Cobb which I use more which we love and gives loads more options - pizza, bread, cake, crumble, roast chicken etc etc!

Pancakes for breakfast. You can buy a bottle with mix in that you just add water to. Then cook in frying pan and add jam / honey / choc spread. Kids love it

Pesto pasta easy, can add bits chopped ham or sliced tomatoes with grated cheese on top. My dcs love things like BBQ sausages with mash and baked beans, or risotto is fairly simple especially if made with precooked rice, stir fry noodles with veg and fish or meat off BBQ, meatballs and pasta, bbq meat with rice and ratatouille. Breakfast is usually jam sandwiches or cereal, croissants if we're feeling posh! One of my Mum's top tips which I've adopted is to use a notebook to record your favourite camping foods and recipes. Mum's includes things like tandoori chicken to BBQ, recipes for dips to serve with chopped veg, and salad dressings.

Cook a bolognaise and freeze it then take it with you. It'll have defrosted by the evening so you can reheat on one ring and pasta on the other.
Chicken fajitas for another night just need to fry peppers, chicken etc (don't add spices if you don't want) then put stuff in bowls and have the wraps ad do it yourself.
Sausage and beans? ( for brkfst or tea)
Some of the uncle Ben rices in the pouch? Pasta, noodles? A jar of sauce and some veg or chicken?
We have pork chops too.
Or chippy from the wrapper!

Tinned hot dogs for breakfast!? Take your frying pan and make bacon and eggs...you can make stews for dinner, pasta...we make sure we have a lot of snacks available as I DC get so hungry..so nuts and chocolate are useful...

It could be great, it could be disastrous, but hoping our 'trial weekend' goes well - we have a few longer trips booked for later in the year. DD is 3.8 (doesn't remember camping) and DS is 10 months.

One thing I can plan for is food. But I'm lacking ideas as we haven't camped for so long. We'll have a two ring gas stove and a BBQ.

Any great ideas? First night I'd like to take something ready prepared, to just cook on the BBQ perhaps?. Breakfast is usually tinned hot dogs or porridge. I don't really want to eat out but might for lunch.
