Seriously this campsite is massive, we spent a few hours just exploring it. Loads of woodland of various kinds, camping in amongst the woods, or in little woodland meadows or in a big field with views. Campfires, ropeswings - brilliant Just had to share!

Count me as a massive fan of Inwood. The local pub in Dummer (or something similar) which is a pleasant 20 mins walk across fields does a top rate ploughman and pint.

We went last year, it rained the entire weekend and we had a great time (thank goodness we had just bought a porch extension to keep all the wet stuff under). Kind of weird to think that you are only about 2 miles from Basingstoke!

Yes, must admit I was dubious about location, prob wouldn't have chosen it if I hadn't had to be in that area on Saturday. Glad I did though. Added bonus everyone was going in the opposite direction on the A303. No bank holiday traffic jam for us!

We live nearby, would never normally camp so close to home, but then we thought why not?

BTW I love Forgewood!

Not sure what you mean by restricted Pimf. I imagine they might restrict fires in the woods if conditions where very dry. Is that what you mean?

hz - at Forgewood they have a problem with a few of the neighbouring estates and from what I understand if there is no wind they ban fires for the evening. I'm not sure it's ever happened to us. Although they also have a fire ban until 7pm which is a shame. Having said that, it is not strictly enforced and I think they are of the mindset that so long as they have informed people, they are covered.

Ah right. Thanks Hillbilly! No mention of any such restriction when we were there or on web page, sounds like a local issue. I went to a festival on the erididge estate (where forgewood is) and on the second night the music had to be turned of at 11pm cos of the neighbours - must be a bit of an issue round there!

No restrictions at Inwood when we were there, we had the fire going all afternoon, but it was raining the entire time so no dry grass.
