Family of four - Vango Icarus 500 or 600?

Hello

We are about to buy a new tent. I like the look of the Vango Icarus but can't work out whether we are better off with the 500 or 600. We would like the space to keep clothes etc in the bedroom so am leaning towards the 600 but it is it ridiculously big?

We are two adults, two kids (age 5 and 8).

We are a family of three and have just bought the 500. We used to have a different brand six berth tent which was very difficult to put up and we used to fill it with clutter so have downsized.

But the woman in the tent shop recommended we get the 600 so if I were you I would go for the 600. I've read on here that it doesn't take long to pitch.

I had an icarus 500 for weekends with just ds and myself.

It's a blooming good tent, easy to pitch and fine.......But - If I were buying again I would steer towards the 600 to get that bit extra

Don't get the blue one! Bloody Vango have discontinued the canopy in that colour so you won't have the option of creating a bigger space in the future if that's what you decide.

we have the 500. great to put up and big enough. we have three dc but dh doesnt dooo camping I can get it warm, which bigger tents don't.

We are a family of four and have the 600. We did the measurements before we bought it and our 4 airbeds wouldn't fit in a 500. We fit comfortably in the bedroom, small spaces between the beds. The tent itself isn't massive, easy to put up, but the living area is a nice size.

I just received an email from decathlon saying the Icarus 600 is on sale for £189 this weekend, in store only. It may just be for loyalty card holders, buy free to join.

We got the 600XL, which I think was a Go Outdoors special - it has an extra front section.

Its not at all ridiculous for me, dh and ds.

Tis a bugger to get back in the bag, but goes up very easily

We have the 600 for our family of 4 plus dog. It is a good size, def not excessively big.

I just received the 600! Can't wait to test it out next month! I managed to find it for £199 too which I think is a blooming bargain!!
