Chess is out for us (dh used to compete to quite a high standard and won't play with 'one move ahead' me) and bridge does my head in. Again, dh is really good at it. Actually ANY card games involving complicated/predictive maths is out as it will end in Words.

So prompted by Slubber's thread about Monopoly Deal Grin, I was wondering what else people play of a rainy evening.

Go fish; gin rummy; Scrabble?

Charades Grin

Some sort of competitive craft.

Travel scrabble.

I dunno, umm, how many biscuits can you insert in your mouth at the same time?

We got Pit at Christmas too as well as Monopoly Deal. I like Pit (v shouty!) but the MD is much better and much more evil.

Some of those games sound like fun Slubber.

My sister has rapidough and that is hilarious for a group. you get into teams and one person has to mould what's written on the card for the team mates to guess.

I'm not sure how it would go with just a couple though?

You need a travel version of Blockbusters.

For the record, I don't do fucking craft. Wink

Particularly in a tent.

I do always take a good book though.

Well that's a shame Notters as you are potentially missing out on all sorts of cheap and wholesome fun.

The only "craft" I would partake of whilst camping would be participating in a Pimms Masterclass.

You could craft hats out of leaves and other found objects, Notters.

Maybe you could organise a competition to see who can have the biggest wood, funtimes?

We also like the one word at a time story game. Adding one word at a time. Usually whilst drinking crabbies, staring at the sky. Sighs.

Grin

And who says that camping is dull?

Is banangrams like scrabble?

Making a hat from foraged foliage and surprised small mammals is only one small step away from wriggling around in the mud and pretending you're in a vietnamese jungle imo. You're probably right in your stance Notters.

Last August we pitched near a caravan with a ginormous telly in it and spent a fun evening watching the Paralympics through their window, providing our own commentary to make up for the lack of sound.

Just re-read.

"Right in your stance" - you meant YY Notters, for you are wise.

Not, "right in your stance" = that's you, that is.
