Is there anyone who wants a challenge? Searching for a Vango Icarus 600 Blue Tent Extension

We bought the Vango Icarus 600 last year, planning to buy the canopy later if we enjoyed camping and when we had some spare cash to stagger the cost, and now they have stopped making it to match our tent!

There are still a few green ones around that we will buy if necessary but we would really like a blue one to match the tent. Can anyone help? We're not camping until July but we've been searching and emailing stores for the past week and come up with nothing.

Can't see any - have you tried contacting Vango direct? They are quite active on twitter (@vango) so I'd try sending them a tweet if you're on twitter.

There's an open canopy here, but you'd need to buy the tent as well and then sell it on!

Have you tried emailing vango? I had a similar problem with getting an extension for my samara last autumn. In the end I set up an alert on ebay and finally got one (half rrp as well ).

I have a green awning - long story - ordered online and didn't arrive - rang and complained, sent a new order - then the other one arrived - rang and told them - over a year ago - they never collected it

so I have a brand new - still wrapped green Icarus awning - will sell it cheap pm me x

Thanks so much for your suggestions, I understand from trawling forums that others have already contacted Vango with no luck. I think we will probably end up getting a green one as time is running out for our planned trip. Will PM you gordy if the offer is still available.

Can't remember how much we paid for it. We've only ever had it up in the garden once to try it out. It's the full extension, not the sun canopy. Quick Google shows one sold on ebay in autumn for £112 (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vango-Icarus-600-Enclosed-Canopy-Front-Extension-Moss-Green-New-/321232171232) and this one last spring for £127 (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vango-Icarus-600-Front-Enclosed-Canopy-Moss-Green-RRP-150-2012-Model-/271183985548). Can't remember if it's the 2012 or 2013 model - it has big windows. What would you pay? Would you send a courier? Ebay posts say it's 9.5kg.

We searched high and low for a canopy for our icarus 600, no joy, rarer than rocking horse shit I concluded.
However i discovered the icarus range is now called Isis, and the 600 version is exactly the same size tent, and there is a canopy that fits it. Different shade of green but we can cope with that, so bought one a few weeks ago and so glad we did.
Got ours from outdoor megastore, though their 'next day' delivery turned out to be 4 day delivery...

Interested in this post as we have blue Icarus too. However my BIL has a canopy completely different brand to his tent and it works so well. Am totally thinking of getting one, just so I can spread out even more!
