Gwithian (Hayle), Cornwall - any recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a site at Gwithian please? We stayed at St Ives Bay last year and loved the beaches and the area but the site was too big and noisy. Ideally looking for a site with a small shop and a laundrette (as ds1 gets travel sick!). Gwithian Farm looks nice but wondered if it might be a bit exposed to the wind - anyone stayed there?

I've stayed on Gwithian Farm and it's lovely. It has a shop and an extremely clean toilet/shower block.
We were in a camper van but I can't remember thinking it was particularly exposed. There is a lovely 5 minute walk from the site, over sand dunes, to the beach. I would definitely recommend it.

Gwithian is a lovely site, I found it a little windy, in fact there were reminders a few nights to make sure you had pegged down properly so make sure you're prepared. The site is hedged which does take most of the wind. We also have a camper and had parked into the wind which actually meant the rain blew straight in through the air gap at the top or our pop top.
I would definitely recommend the site though. not too big or noisy, (other than all the children running around). The chip van comes twice a week, paella once or twice, little shop that sells most things you'd need, camping spares, beach stuff, papers and milk. Bus into St Ives if you want it, easy walk down to the beach, (the hill is coming back).
The site owners older children will even babysit.

Westerley Campsite, a good basic site, plenty of space, campfires allowed close to St Ives and Hayle. Does have washing machine. Such a fab area.

Another vote for Gwithian Farm - we stayed there in the godawful weather last year and it was the only site around that didn't flood! Easy car free walk to lovely beach, nice big field for kids to play in, good facilities, friendly owner.

Oh - Gwithian Farm fully booked for EHU pitches for the summer hols :(
Don't think I can manage two weeks without EHU. The weather was so pants last year we had to run an electric fan heater to dry off!
