Is anyone going?
I've never been before and have questions...
Do we need camping plus?
Will the showers be a nightmare?
How much does food cost?
Any tips?
Grockle which bit of Camping Plus would you recommend - really really really want a flat pitch!!
Oh wow - what a lovely story
Yes indeed!! Found and sorted!!! CB festival-goers are the BEST!!
OMG ... they've been found! On the forum:
"It's a long story, but it involves tweeting Rob da Bank, his retweet, and a fellow festival goer realising they had picked up the bag, not even looked inside, so took it home with them, with the intention to Facebook it."
Completely awesome ... now I can say what I wanted to say all along, shandy's mate, don't take your rings off outside your own home ever again, silly sausage!
Sadly I don't think she will, I have seen the clean up operation and it does tend to be chuck it all in a pile and then shove it in bags.
I hope she gets them back - I saw her posting on the Bestival forums about them. That must be SUCH a downer on the weekend.
I didn't wear my rings last year as I'd lost a lot of weight and they were prone to flying off at the least provocation - DH was extremely dubious about me going ringless to Dorset despite my explanations of why!
A massive long shot but... A friend I was with lost a small white make up bag as she was leaving on Monday & in it were her engagement & wedding rings plus a cocktail ring
.
Said I'd post on here just in case. PM me if any sightings?
Thanks very much!
I think I'm going to wait until a couple of acts are announced before I commit to anything. I only saw one band all weekend this time as I really wasn't into anything on offer and it'd be nice to see a bit more music next time around.
Loved your review mmeguillotine, pretty much sums up our experience!
Still dithering about early bird, I've gone as far as putting tickets in a basket twice today then got sidetracked by something else. I think it's a sign!
As you can see by my review, we had a really good time but it was our third Camp Bestival and we're thinking we might give next year's a miss and go to a different festival like Glastonbury or Latitude or something.
On the other hand, my husband is worried that if we DON'T go then Stewart Lee will headline the comedy acts and I'm worried they'll get the Sisters of Mercy in or something really thrilling like that (they have yet to tap the goth nostalgia of middle class thirty somethings despite my prodding them about it every year) so not really sure what to do. I hate buying tickets before acts are announced!
We had the best time ever but won't book yet as dh probably not around. Its a lot of money and we spent quite a bit there too even though we took some food and booze with us. The weather was perfect and I wonder if it had been raining it would have been a disaster.
I loved Adam Ant.

Where are the reviews?
I cannot possibly book now for next year. Only booked it the week before this year. In fact, we're camping ATM and moving on to another site on Mon but don't know where yet.
i want to book but I'm dithering too. No idea why!
I am pretending to give careful consideration to next year. In reality my consideration goes like this:
DD will make my life not worth living if we don't go.
My only doubts come when I read bad reviews, and wonder if we might have a not-so-good time if we went next year ... but they seem to be mostly from people with major persecution complexes ('no one personally told me the massive number of water points from which people were filling their water bottles from was fit for drinking, this must have been a cynical ruse to make me buy expensive bottled water all weekend'*, for instance).
* I paraphrase slightly
Dithering about whether to buy tickets today or not...
definitely not me
I don't see the point of organic milk (disclaimer as a family we have just given up dairy farming)
I reckon I was chatting with an MNer in a queue - she was discussing the merits of organic milk whilst a Joules-clad children (Tilly, Olive & others whose names I cannot remember).
I don't know, we are on the corner by the army camp, so inbetween green and yellow car parks. I was at work but DH said there was a steady stream of traffic but no queues. I had friends just the other side of Warehma though who said the queues were bad. There were police everywhere on the Monday morning directing traffic.
We're booking next year's Camping Plus pitch tomorrow!
Five, do you know what they did differently with the traffic this year? It was easy as anything in both directions, thought it was just our timing but several people on the forum have said it was much better than its been before.
I think I want to go back. I just wish I could win the lottery and go to Boutique in a mahoosive yurt.
I didn't go to a babytent, went to soft play but DS is just 4.
Five, - I didn't meet you in the baby tent did I?
Last year there was a massive problem with drunk teenagers, hence the reason for the no booze, but seeing as there were not alot of teenagers there as the parents cannot just dump and run anymore then the rule I guess was relaxed.
