We should (hopefully) be going camping, to a big Hoem ed camp, in the middle of september. I've not been camping since I was a little girl, so any tips, please for camping with 2 littlies?

I need advice on choosing a tent, what to take, what kind of pitch to choose, etc. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

I asked this a couple of months ago and got loads of really helpful responses. I'm going to attempt to do a link to the thread I started, it was invaluable to me and we have just got back from a fab camping holiday with boys aged 4 and 2.

When we took our dd camping - she was about 2 - we took a small blow up paddling pool and cut out that camping mat stuff and taped it into the bottom. She slept in this - because i was worried about her rolling about in the night - she thought it was fantastic!

soxwasher - what a brilliant idea. Will remember that one for next year.
We are off camping in a couple of weeks time with DD (2 years) - not sure about sleeping on the ground at 6 months pregnant as I am uncomfortable enough on a nice bed but we love camping so will give it a go anyway!.

As a regular camper I would recommend to all that if you can, go in a group - the more adults to share the load of pitching tents while others supervise the chidlren etc. is really handy - and children are more easily amused in larger numbers.

We went on our first camping trip last night. My ds who will be 4 this month loved it. It was lovely to see him so happy. We borrowed a tent and went to Ullapool in the North of Scotland. It was great apart from the midgies!! Would definately go again, it was very enjoyable. Hope you have a great time.
