I need to lose a couple of stone and though t if I start now I might have lost half a stone by Christmas - in time for Christmas parties and stuff. I lost three Stone in the last couple of years but have put one back on moving in with dp and getting too comfortable! Basically I'm intending to do myfitnesspal and the shred dvd along with trying to walk more. It worked for me before! So if anyone else is planning to start or have started then how about a moral support thread? smile I'm starting at 12.5 stone and a dress size 14... Would like to get to 10 stone and a size 10-12.

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt Sun 10-Nov-13 18:31:23

Yes. I'll join you. I've been needing to lose about 3 stone since DD was born, and although I've lost 1.5 stone I put it back on easily and have done just that over the last few weeks (we just got married).

I'll aim for half a stone before Christmas too. I'll also use My Fitness Pal but will probably also hit the gym instead if Shredding. I might (crazy ass fool) look into Insanity as some friends are raving about it!

clam Sun 10-Nov-13 18:33:07

I'd like to join you. Trouble is, I'm still recovering from a broken leg so I'm a bit limited as to what exercise I can do. But I'm inflating by the minute, so something needs to be done. 2 stone at least.
All ideas welcome.

wfrances Sun 10-Nov-13 18:39:12

yes please
i need to lose a stone and aiming for 2lb a week.

LongWordsBotherMe Sun 10-Nov-13 18:43:05

I would love to join you but I am scared of failing again. I currently weigh 10.6 and want to lose 2stone ideally (am only 5'1". Will be trying to calorie count and up exercise as much as possible. Please can I join in? I have been losing and regaining the same 5lb forever it feels like!

Weekipper Sun 10-Nov-13 18:43:58

I'd like to get back to 11st. I'm 13st at the moment. So here goes!

zazzabeans Sun 10-Nov-13 22:12:31

I will join you grin
im 5ft 2 and a hefty 13st 12 shock and a size 16 .
would love to be a size 10 but more realistically a 12 and about 10 1/2 stone, however that seems a loooong way off so will start at aiming to lose 10lb grin
going to be calorie counting from tomorrow, how many calories do you aim for ? also have a treadmill so will hopefully be using it, im at work mon, tues, then a night shift wed, day shift fri. so wont be tempted to eat loads blush

SweetSeraphim Sun 10-Nov-13 22:12:32

LongWords that is EXACTLY the same as me. I'm currently 11.10 and want to get to 10.0, but I'm having real trouble sticking to anything. Have lost 1.5 stone over the last 5 months, but I've got stuck and as a result, have no motivation.

Would love to join this thread!

PS I've eaten like a pig this weekend... back on the wagon tomorrow!

sunbathe Sun 10-Nov-13 22:32:27

I'll join too. Need to shift half a stone (at least!). Dh just says I need to tone up, but I think it's a little more than that!

Are you doing a weekly weigh-in?

aldiconvert Sun 10-Nov-13 22:34:37

Me ! Day one starts tomorrow .... Nothing drastic as bf still but healthy eating as scoffing choc cakes and sweets daily !

geologygirl Sun 10-Nov-13 22:54:05

Yep me too! I have nearly 2 stones to lose.

ninah Sun 10-Nov-13 22:56:06

yes please

JumpingJackSprat Sun 10-Nov-13 22:57:19

Awesome welcome everyone smile I thought I might have been on my own with this crazy plan! I think a weekly weigh in is a great idea. I'll be weighingmyself in the morning and I'll be aiming for 1400 calories per day. Lady time I did this I measured my waist, hips, thighs and bust fortnightly and recorded them? It's really interesting and an extra boost to the self confidence to see my waist etc shrinking.

Hopefully if I just cut out most of the junk I eat and reduce my portion sizes I'll lose weight and save money.

FortyFacedFuckers Sun 10-Nov-13 23:01:32

I'll join I have 3 stone to lose for next June and I would like to get some of that off before Christmas. I am doing my fitness pal and starting c25k again.

Sweetiepickers Sun 10-Nov-13 23:08:22

I'm in too! Would like to loose 2 stone. Currently a chubby size 16 and need to loose 20 lbs to reach a healthy BMI. Will try not to snack & make sure I eat 3 healthy meals. Target of below 12 stone by Xmas. I have the Shred but it remains in cellophane.......

Sweetiepickers Sun 10-Nov-13 23:11:47

Hopefully my clothes will be loose when I lose!

JumpingJackSprat Sun 10-Nov-13 23:22:19

Sweetie you should give the shred a go ... its actually not that difficult at level 1 although is very intense it does make you feel like you have had a hell of a workout even if you can't keep up. .. As I can't when I start it again after a break! Dreading doing it tomorrow smile

juneybean Sun 10-Nov-13 23:23:12

Yes I need to lose weight before January ideally! I'm a 16/18 desperately need to lose 15-20lbs.

I'm on MFP.

GirlFromTheNorthCountry Sun 10-Nov-13 23:26:02

Hi, can I join too? I'd like to lose 2 stone and plan to calorie count and exercise more. I'm very guilty of eating things mindlessly so know I need to focus on the food side of things. Love the idea of a weekly weigh-in, exactly what I need to keep me focused.

ninah Sun 10-Nov-13 23:26:30

I'm not gonna weigh myself I'm just gonna eat less until my clothes fit better. What's shred?

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 07:05:13

Shred is a fitness dvd by Jillian Michaels (well its called the 30 day shred). It's course of three 20 minutes workout where you do the minute s cargo then 2 minutes strength and two minutes abs (or something like that) then repeat with different exercises. I think they're on YouTube.

I weighed in this morning - 12 stone 5.

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 07:06:32
sunbathe Mon 11-Nov-13 07:33:11

Morning all! Barely awake here, will weigh and measure later.

clam Mon 11-Nov-13 07:38:35

Oh. My. God!
Just stepped on the scales. I have put on a stone since I broke this darn leg. And I was hefty enough before that.

Well, it's inspired me to do something about it, anyway. Still worried about how to do any effective exercise though. Can't do anything that involves impact.

Batbear Mon 11-Nov-13 07:40:55

Can I join too? I'm bf but was doing well until a family bereavement had me falling face first into cake. I need to step away from the biscuits as the rest is pretty reasonable.

Weigh 12st this morning and will attempt to shred with a sick 3 year old and a 9 week old watching! Should be fun!!

Hoping some company will keep me on the wagon

GirlFromTheNorthCountry Mon 11-Nov-13 07:49:49

Morning all. Just weighed in at 13 stone exactly. Will do measurements later.

headoverheels Mon 11-Nov-13 08:03:35

Hi, can I join too? I was meant to start last Monday but, er, didn't. I'm 5'8" and I weigh 12st 10lb. I've put on about half a stone since the summer grrrr. I'd like to lose 1st to start off with (which would get me within the healthy BMI range) and hopefully another stone after that.

I've lost weight in the past on WW. This time I'm planning to count calories and exercise (running, gym, swimming, pilates).

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 10:23:19

There's loads of us now I'm hoping the weekly weigh in with all of us will keep me on track too!! I've done Ok this morning. .. ate s bit too much for breakfast but haven't had any mid morning snack. Is cutting these things out and training myself to want/need less food that I find the hardest thing. And to realise feeling hungry every now and again isn't a bad thing! !

Clam is there any upper body cardio you can do? Punches and so on? Or can you go swimming? Obviously not if youre still in plaster!

SweetSeraphim Mon 11-Nov-13 10:50:37

When are we having the weekly weigh-in then? On a Sunday or a Monday?

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 11:33:57

I'm going with Mondays but whichever day everyone wants to do individually I would have thought I'd up to them smile

SweetSeraphim Mon 11-Nov-13 12:08:47

Brilliant grin It's good to have some support!

Sweetiepickers Mon 11-Nov-13 12:37:10

Hi all. My morning weigh in was 12 st 7 - so sub 12 by Xmas should be achievable.
Someone mentioned 'mindless eating' - that's so me. Think I may try & plan/write down what I eat.
I'm saving the Shred for this evening. If someone with a newborn is planning to do it surely I can!

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 12:52:52

Sweetie have you heard of my fitnesspal? Is an app/ website where you can track your food eaten and exercise. .. much easier than keeping a food diary!! If you get under or on your calorie goal for the day it givesyou a well done message which I'm always pathetically grateful for smile

SweetSeraphim Mon 11-Nov-13 13:09:59

How do we add friends on MyFitnessPal, does anyone know?

saintmerryweather Mon 11-Nov-13 13:14:41

i keep joinimg these threads but never stick to em. am 5"3 and 12st 5 as of this morning, i want to.lose at least a stone but really i want to.get fitter and develop some sort of a semblance of a core.

ive only had weetabix and a chicken salad so far today and am so hungry right now! im just going to.use smaller plates and be a bit more sensible, including not taking any money to work!

carlywurly Mon 11-Nov-13 21:39:10

Please may I join you? Been on my fitness pal for 40 days and gone from 12 7 to 11 7 and am aiming to shift another stone to be back to a 10-12 (I'm 5ft 7)

I either shred, run or go to the gym 3 times a week and am feeling much fitter for it. This is the only way I seem to lose weight and it's not been too painful either smile

JumpingJackSprat Mon 11-Nov-13 21:51:19

wow a stone in 40 days hope I can emulate that! although as my shred dvd has gone missing, ill have to have a good look for it.

Hope everyone's done positively today, I have kept my calories under my target but didn't do any exercise which wasn't an auspicious start.

I wonder if anyone has any favourite low calorie/low fat but still filling recipes they would like to share?

sunbathe Mon 11-Nov-13 23:21:25

Remembered to come back and log my weight. 11 stones 12 3/4 pounds.

I got down to 11 st 8 lb previously. Ah well, have to start exercising again.

readyforno2 Mon 11-Nov-13 23:43:55

Can I join? Am much heavier than everyone else here.. Almost 15stone but getting married this time next year and would love to be around 10..
Am on mfp and using the wii fit, will look out the shred as I've got it somewhere. I really need a kick up the arse

beckslovestimmy Tue 12-Nov-13 21:05:23

Can I join too. I'm doing my fitness Pal. Sticking to 1200 calories and exercising 3-4times a week at the gym. Mainly strength training with a bit of cardio. Lost 6lb last week. Weigh in on Saturday. Also trying to drink 2l of water a day. Would like to lose a stone as a starting point but need to lose 3-4 stone really. Come in ladies WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Sweetiepickers Tue 12-Nov-13 23:04:45

Just tried to download My Fitness Pal & already seem to be a member but can't access it! Will have another go tomorrow. Been reasonable with my eating - not much in the way of exercise yet as have a bad 'sugar withdrawal' headache. Plan for tomorrow - get MFP to work, start the Shred & try drinking 2L of water like Becks. And stay off the CHOCOLATE

beckslovestimmy Tue 12-Nov-13 23:26:59

Good luck sweetie!!! I find the water helps limit food cravings smile

wfrances Wed 13-Nov-13 11:29:22

help
9 boxes of christmas biscuits from m&s just arrived

carlywurly Wed 13-Nov-13 19:02:39

Hi everyone, weigh in day for me and I'm down another pound to 11 6. It's slow but steady and I've lost something every week now.
My cals on Mfp are set for me to lose 1.5lbs a week and it's doing the trick.

I am a massive fan of m&s vegetarian sushi for lunch at work - 215 cals and it's so tasty and filling, keeps me going until dinner. I'm having poached eggs on wholemeal toast most mornings.

I'm really between sizes now. 12 is usually a bit snug but 14 is looking baggy. How is everyone else?

SweetSeraphim Wed 13-Nov-13 20:51:21

I fully intend to have lost this week when I weigh in on Sunday. I've been quite good with the food diary and been careful with what I've eaten. I do have a small problem that always rears it's ugly head though - every time I feel emotionally unsettled in any way, I eat for comfort. I haven't done it this week so far, but it's been bloody hard as I'm not having a great week!

beckslovestimmy Wed 13-Nov-13 21:37:47

Good day today, under calorie goal by 9cals. Felt stuffed after a dinner of sweet and sour chicken with special fried rice (522cals) and a pud of jelly and yoghurt (80cals). Yum yum. Off to the gym tomorrow. Here's hoping for another good day. Weigh day on Saturday. grin

beckslovestimmy Wed 13-Nov-13 21:38:51

Ooh forgot to say well done carlywurly! grin

GirlFromTheNorthCountry Wed 13-Nov-13 22:26:54

I've got a question for you all....what time of the day is the worst for you for wanting junk and anyone got any good ideas of what to do to distract yourself from cravings? I'm awful around 4pm, can happily eat healthily all day but then just want to eat rubbish-especially now the weather is getting worse. I've realised this week that I'm constantly making excuses about why I 'deserve' a treat at this time of day. Any ideas of how to stop this?

clam Wed 13-Nov-13 22:46:05

Normally, I'm reasonably good all day, then rampage through the fridge when I get in from work like a shoal of piranha fish on a cow carcass.

Not this week though! <preen> Am being REALLY good, and have even given up wine Have discovered I can do the stepper machine without aggravating my leg, and we're about to buy an exercise bike.

Will weigh in on Monday morning (first thing, stark naked, after a wee but before any juice).

beckslovestimmy Thu 14-Nov-13 08:47:01

Hi girl from the north, I crave my junk in the evenings once the little one has gone to bed. We have dinner early so we can all eat together. I save enough calories from my 1200 for a milky coffee and 'a treat' this might be a fat free yoghurt, packet of quavers, small chocolate biscuit like a rocky or KitKat. I also try and fill up on water on the evenings too to help with the hunger pangs. I have a friend doing my fitness pal to and she saves 99cals a day for a mini bag of malteasers she says this helps with her chocolate cravings.

JumpingJackSprat Thu 14-Nov-13 14:58:29

Ha ha clam that's how I do it too. .. how light can I possibly make myself before weigh in! ! I've had a mid week weigh and am down by 1lb but that doesn't mean much. .. need to try and only weigh myself on weigh days. I'm doing ok so far -haven't any time to exercise but I have kept more or less on my calorie goal or underit. Also am coping Ok with not snacking and having ready brek for breakfast and soup for lunch. Well done everyone keep it up smile

Batbear Thu 14-Nov-13 20:25:17

Hope everyone is doing well. I have registered with mfp and have stuck to my calories (am bf so making sure 10 week old DS2 doesn't suffer). If anything I've just cut the crap snacks out and upped the salad.

Exercise has so far been rubbish as DS1 has been poorly and clingy so I haven't got there yet. He's due in nursery tomorrow so fingers crossed I can shred then!

Saving a low fat hot chocolate in the evening helps with my chocolate cravings although sitting here watching masterchef is making me hungry!

saintmerryweather Thu 14-Nov-13 22:40:30

its half 10...oh god im so hungry i could murder a biscuit or 8

carlywurly Fri 15-Nov-13 18:02:55

Hi everyone, happy Friday! A weird thing has happened. On Monday I was 11 6 and today I am 11 3. I'm very chuffed but a tad mystified.
It is the week post af so I'm wondering if it's losing retained water or something. I'm now aiming for under 11 stone by our Xmas do - 4 weeks to go smile
Been for a run today but now ravenous and dp wants Indian. I still have 900 cals left on Mfp so hopefully it won't do too much damage if I have a sag aloo and some plain rice. Going to try and go to the gym tomorrow to undo the damage.

JumpingJackSprat Fri 15-Nov-13 19:23:41

A bit of what you fancy does you good carly! Fingers crossed I can keep the momentum going through the weekend when me and dp usually get take away. . Is Not hard to see how I put all the weight on really! !

Batbear Fri 15-Nov-13 19:41:33

Carly - what have you eaten today to have 900 left and enough energy for a run! Clearly I am doing it wrong.

Have gone over today by 28 calories and still feel hungry (I blame the cold). Salad just didn't cut it today!

carlywurly Sun 17-Nov-13 17:10:07

Poached eggs and one slice of toast for breakfast and m&s veg sushi for lunch. I swear by that- 215 cals and amazingly filling smile
Proud of myself today- managed to resist the amazing looking cakes in costa - it helps that they put the calorie count on the labels. Even the healthy looking things have over 400 cals each, it's depressing!

JumpingJackSprat Sun 17-Nov-13 17:12:52

I agree if they didn't put calories on stuff Id be far more likely to eat it! I have managed to avoid snacking today and yesterday although did have takeaway pizza yesterday, I had less than normal so at the moment its not been too bad.

saintmerryweather Mon 18-Nov-13 06:47:18

weighed in this morning and have lost 2lbs this week with no extra exercise!

GirlFromTheNorthCountry Mon 18-Nov-13 08:36:22

Good job saint. I've also lost this week, 3lb. I'm chuffed.

Batbear Mon 18-Nov-13 09:23:37

I'm a lb down today - would have been better if I'd not fallen head first into lunch with my in laws yesterday I suspect!

With my folks for a few days this week where my dad serves huge portions! Need to be extra careful there I think!

beckslovestimmy Mon 18-Nov-13 13:08:50

I lost 2.25lb this week so that's 8.25lb in 2 weeks with MFP. Really pleased with that first time I shifted more than a couple of pound in months. Not finding it too hard. Also going to the gym 3-4 times a week to tone up ask go. Well done on everyone else's losses grin

carlywurly Mon 18-Nov-13 18:35:43

Well done everyone! grin

JumpingJackSprat Tue 19-Nov-13 17:50:57

well done everyone! Im down by 2lbs this week and not finding it too hard so far - I need to get used to thinking its ok to feel hungry every now and again!!

saintmerryweather Tue 19-Nov-13 18:20:21

oops...had a couple of days off work.and fallen right off the wagon gotta get back on it!

coolkat Wed 20-Nov-13 13:13:06

Hi ladies

Following this thread as I am also wanting to lose weight before Christmas due to having a family wedding. At the start of the year and up to about April I was relatively happy but now my body shape has changed and I have added 6/7lbs which has made my clothes uncomfortable. I am also thinking of starting the 30 day shred to combat where my weight seems to sit (love handles) smile

I have updates MFP and am starting to use this again.

Wallycobbles Wed 20-Nov-13 20:53:03

Hi ladies, I'd like to join :-) currently 12st10. Would love to get to 10st, but 11 will be a start! I went back to work a few months ago and looking after DTDs means I'm pushed for exercise time blush

Hoping a weekly weigh in will keep me motivated :-)

beckslovestimmy Thu 21-Nov-13 08:30:27

Hi coolcat and wally! Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great grin

carlywurly Thu 21-Nov-13 20:33:24

Evening all, 11 3 at this weeks weigh in so that's 18 lbs gone now. 8 more to go to my initial target. smile

Just done a shred work out - level 2 and my arms are aching like mad.

Welcome new people, please keep posting everyone.

Wallycobbles Thu 21-Nov-13 22:03:45

Well done that's fab! Do you find your weight loss slowed with doing the shred carly as you put on muscle?

Emma90daychallenge Fri 22-Nov-13 00:33:55

carlywurly Fri 22-Nov-13 19:44:24

My weight loss has stayed at 1.5 lbs per week pretty consistently but my shape is really different. It's made a massive difference around my middle. I almost nearly have abs! shock

My arms and legs have changed so I've definitely put on muscle but I think it's increased my metabolism with it. I'm really chuffed with the Mfp exercise combo. It works so well for me when nothing else seemed to. I had pretty much resigned myself to being a large 14 and now I'm back in size 12.

Keep going everyone. I find Friday evenings hard after a week at work.

beckslovestimmy Fri 22-Nov-13 20:10:50

I've had a couple of bad days this week but nowhere near as bad as my pre MFP days. Went to the gym today so feeling a bit better. Weigh in day tomorrow, hoping for a 2lb loss. grin

Wallycobbles Fri 22-Nov-13 22:40:50

Might try it out next week, as I've got a dress I'd love to be able to fit in, four weeks tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow becks smile

JumpingJackSprat Sat 23-Nov-13 07:39:49

Im a bit concerned that being very good all week in not going to have lost any weight this week. .. I haven't had time for the shred bit I'm doing some exercise this morning. I'm thinking of starting pilates in an attempt to strengthen my core to help with general pressure. Is it any good for weight loss?

carlywurly Sat 23-Nov-13 08:01:08

Pilates changed my shape rather than helped me lose. I used it after the dcs were born to sort my stomach muscles out. It's good for making you look leaner but I'd think for weight loss you probably need to combine it with a bit of cardio.

It's sunny here this morning but freezing. Do I go for a run?!

beckslovestimmy Sat 23-Nov-13 08:11:49

Wrap up warm and go for it Carly. You'll feel great afterwards.

carlywurly Sat 23-Nov-13 21:37:06

I did! It was such a lovely morning. Managed nearly 5 miles somehow. But have scoffed an Indian takeaway this evening grin

beckslovestimmy Sat 23-Nov-13 21:40:29

Well done Carly smile

YouCanCallMeBetty Sun 24-Nov-13 07:36:13

Hello everyone, do you mind if I join? I lost 2 stone earlier this year before I went back to work after mat leave, but now the constant work snacks have meant I've put on 0.5 stone. I know it's not much but really want to lose it by Christmas, as I know I'll put more on then. I'm on MFP, same user name. Sounds like everyone here is doing really well.

beckslovestimmy Sun 24-Nov-13 09:16:09

Well I lost 0.25lb this week. Not too bad seeing as I had a couple of bad days last week. I'm off to the gym later too so that should help the loss for next week.

beckslovestimmy Sun 24-Nov-13 09:18:49

What is the best thing to have from the Chinese takeaway? We're having takeaway on Monday. I'm thinking I might just get a chow mein low fat ready meal and bung it in the microwave while I'm dishing up everyone else's. they'd be none the wiser then and at least I'd be sure of the calories. smile

YouCanCallMeBetty Sun 24-Nov-13 14:10:53

Hmm, healthier Chinese takeaway - maybe steamed veg and fish, plain boiled rice, szechuan prawns or chicken... could eat that right now.

JumpingJackSprat Sun 24-Nov-13 14:46:33

I would probably do a stir fry - can be very low calorie, me and DP have it usually once a week as its so quick and easy. Or Id have chow mein. Mind you I had pie and chips last night so who am I to talk? :-D welcome new people, the more the merrier... Im not looking forward to weigh day tomorrow, well done to those who already know they lost weight this week!

JumpingJackSprat Sun 24-Nov-13 14:48:42

Actually I had an alternative to Chinese the other day - grilled chicken breast smothered in various spices, with chilli stir fried vegetables, and rather than having egg fried rice I scrambled a couple of plain eggs in the microwave and mixed it in with boiled rice with a little bit of soy sauce - it was delicious.

YouCanCallMeBetty Mon 25-Nov-13 07:29:09

That sounds good JumpingJackSprat. Just had porridge with banana and linseeds - actually more cals than I have been having but hopefully will keep me fullish til lunchtime... we'll see!

saintmerryweather Mon 25-Nov-13 07:32:31

whoops have well and truly fallen off this wagon am back up to 12st 4. i have no motivation whatsoever. back on it today

beckslovestimmy Mon 25-Nov-13 08:20:41

Thanks for the tips/ideas ladies. I'm loving the 'Meal' soups from sainsburys for lunch. There all between 200-250 calories and really filling. Much nicer to have something hot in this weather than a cold sandwich £1.60 each.

headoverheels Mon 25-Nov-13 13:53:58

I posted on this thread two weeks ago but have gained 2lb since then hmm.

Starting afresh today. It is 5 months till my 40th birthday and I would really like to be slimmer for that. So when I reach for a snack (I'm a mindless eater as some of you have already said) my mantra is going to be "fab at forty"!

So far I've had porridge for breakfast and prawn noodle salad (Waitrose - 167 cals) and some pineapple for lunch.

carlywurly Mon 25-Nov-13 20:48:02

My fitness pal is fab for reining in mindless snacking! Logging it all makes you question how much you want it.

I'm up to 11 4 after being 11 2 on sat which is annoying but I think it's all hormonal water weight as I've done loads of exercise and mainly eaten well. It's so hard not to weigh yourself every day..

onlysettleforbutterflies Thu 28-Nov-13 13:58:57

Could I join please? Before my DS I was a size 6/8, now nearly 3 years later I am a size 14, this time last year I was a 12 so its creeping up and up. I bought a dress for my christmas party in the jan sales and tried it on last night, its basically unwearable and I don't have the spare money to buy anything else. So I need to be really strict with the goal of getting in it by 20th December shock. I am crap and have such a sweet tooth and graze constantly.

Weighed myself at lunch time and I weigh 10st 11lb, I would like to be at least a stone lighter. Aiming to do the following, porridge for breakfast 200 cals, Soup for lunch 200 cals, Soup for tea 200 cals, with fruit to snack on. A proper tea 3 times a week, so kinda 5:2 ish. Anyway its a lot less calories than I was consuming.

What day do you have your weigh in?

carlywurly Thu 28-Nov-13 17:50:47

Hello only :0) I think we all have different days - mine has ended up being wed which is a bit random but I use the office scales (in a private room!) and weigh at 9am every week for consistency. I've lost every week for 11 weeks by using my fitness pal and eating 1200 cals a day plus anything I exercise off.
Your weight now is my first target - I'm about 4lbs off smile

I think I will try and stick to Thursdays then. Nearly there carly, hope I can stick to it too, well done. Found my last weigh in slip and I have put 10lb on since aug! Pleased with day one.

JumpingJackSprat Thu 28-Nov-13 23:28:00

Well done so far everyone Let's keep up the momentum! ! I hadnt lost any more so I have bitten the bullet and done the shred today. I had thought I might have lost more by cutting a good 700-1000 calories a day off what I was having but nope!! I need to keep up withe the shred - is really good but does get boring.

carlywurly Fri 29-Nov-13 19:15:38

I'm 11 1 today grin 3 more lbs until my initial target but I think I'll probably go on another half stone beyond that. People are starting to comment now and I'm already getting the "don't lose any more" comments and trust me, I can definitely afford to lose a bit more!

The shred is dull but it's only 20 mins and I kind of daydream my way through it. Ran this morning but ache now so think I'm going to treat myself to a lovely bath with my book.

Half a pound lost this week. I'm pleased with that as i haven't been very good! That's 9lb lost in 4 weeks. It's motivated me to get back on the diet wagon. 20 days until my works Xmas party. I'd like to lose another 4-5lb by then.

carlywurly Sat 30-Nov-13 19:44:44

Becks, that's a great loss in 4 weeks!

I've eaten a fair bit today but did go for a run and lots of shopping to try and off set it. I would love another 2-3 lbs before our Xmas work do in a fortnight.

JumpingJackSprat Sat 30-Nov-13 20:12:33

Really well done you guys smile I am not sure I'd I have last anything this week. .. giving the shred a miss as I went horse riding this morning but I'll be back on it Monday smile I'm still sticking to mfp. You guys are inspiring me v anyway - carly I hate it when you get the "are you eating properly" and "don't lose any more" comments ... I don'tthink people realise how much those comments can stick in your head and make it that much harder to see it through.

carlywurly Sun 01-Dec-13 19:43:40

I appreciate it's usually well meant but I sometimes wonder if they say it because of their own issues.

Massive gym workout this afternoon but ate back all the calories out at dinner grin I feel stuffed after one course, my appetite is not what it used to be.

onlysettleforbutterflies Sun 01-Dec-13 20:06:01

I have done pretty good over the weekend, not quite as strict as I wanted to be, but eaten much less than usual.

You lot are inspiring me to exercise, it wasn't part of my plan but guess it will help lots. Going to take the stairs at work tomorrow at least, it is 5 flights! My neighbour keeps asking me to go for a run with her, too scared of looking like an idiot though, I am so unfit.

carlywurly Sun 01-Dec-13 21:12:39

Exercise is brilliant. once you break the pain barrier I promise it's addictive. I'm so much more toned than I was, and I love that I can go out for meals or have the odd takeaway. I regularly eat more than 1200 cals by running the rest off.

Try walking and then running for 30 seconds at a time to start with. It will hurt to start with but quickly get much easier.

JumpingJackSprat Thu 05-Dec-13 12:50:36

The thread had done a bit quiet How's everyone getting on? I've lost about 4lb in a month but can't be bothered to do the shed dvd a lot - have been doing other forms of exercise. I've just ordered my Christmas party dress and is a 12 so I hope I fit into it when it arrives!

beckslovestimmy Thu 05-Dec-13 14:49:45

Not had a good few days. 2lb on hmm back on track today though with renewed motivation. Went to the gym yesterday and going tomorrow. My trainer is now away for a couple of weeks so I'm determined to lose weight and train hard while he's away. Looking forward to pasta carbonara for tea tonight! grin

JumpingJackSprat Thu 05-Dec-13 15:38:12

I'm having oven chips and smoked mackerel I can't wait as I've had a combination of rice, meat and vegetables all week, I need some chips dammit! I think I shall have to do the shred tonight to make up for it.

beckslovestimmy Thu 05-Dec-13 17:36:05

Yummy chips!!!! I've got a thing for waffles at the mo, yum! grin

carlywurly Fri 06-Dec-13 07:19:22

Woo hoo 11 st exactly today so that's a whole stone and a half off? Just need one more pound off to be 10 st something for our Xmas parties next weekend. So close it's frustrating!

Its not easy when there are open tubs of chocolates all around the office - 50 cals a throw and last year I could gave easily munched through 10 chocs a day!.

I love chips too - I make my own a lot with sea salt and that low day spray stuff or olive oil. Bake them for ages and they're yummy.
I then drown them in sauces which probably doesn't help grin

How is everyone else? Keep posting, I need the encouragement!

Wallycobbles Fri 06-Dec-13 21:10:00

We'll done everyone, I'm still plugging away, started doing the shred, done day 11 today, and doing it 6 days a week and a level per week, don't know if that's the right way to do it, but wanted to get as much in before my party. Anyway, my weight has stayed the same, and my measurements seem to be the same but my dress now fits, not sure how that works, but yay!!

Is everyone carrying on over christmas? I'm hoping to stick to maintenance for the week then back to it in the new year.

beckslovestimmy Fri 06-Dec-13 21:22:37

Hi, I've been back on the wagon, day 2 today and I went to the gym. Feeling good. I'm going to continue over Christmas but might have a mince pie (or 2) on the day grin

carlywurly Sat 07-Dec-13 08:19:11

I fell off the wagon properly last Christmas so I'm determined this year. It was all the 4 course meals out and sweets.

I'm going to forget trying to lose weight for a couple of weeks but if I can maintain or restrict the gain to a couple of pounds that's a bonus after last year. smile
