Calorie-counting

I've lost 4 stone over the last year

I wasn't really sure where to put this, I just wanted to tell someone

I worry about telling people as I'm still really fat, and also a bit disappointed I haven't lost more

I weighed myself this morning and realised it's been a year since I started trying a bit harder and also a year since my DH unceremoniously dumped me. So if we include him it's about 18 stone I've lost, Ho Ho Ho WinkGrin

Anyway, I'm keeping going. I'd like to lose another four really. I'd also like at least the offer of a date and think I need to be slimmer to be in with a chance

Well done. That's an amazing achievement. Have you done it solely through calorie counting? I've struggled to lose 4 stone for the last year but have flitted from Sw to ww to my fitness pal and I've got no where.

You should be so proud yourself it takes a he'll of a lot of willpower. Treat yourself to something new an swagger through town 😆

Ment to ask you. How many calories a day are you eating? You may have inspired me to start again.

4 stone in a year is brilliant

Thank you

Juggling: yes, just calorie counting using my fitness pal. I'm currently on about 1450 calories a day. Sometimes I go WAY over if it's a night out or something but I always log the calories. I've also been walking a lot more. Not great distances, but just more for me. I find my Fitbit motivating.

I've given up on SW/WW etc. Calorie counting seems so much easier and the fact mfp is a great app helps

That's fantastic, well done!

Absolutely stunning achievement! Thanks

4 stones = 14x4lbs = 56lbs; decided by 52 weeks that is more than alb weight loss /week.
That was a healthy way to shift the weight and you are more likely to keep it off.

Sounds like the other 14 st that have left your life are not something you miss too much either Wink

That's bloody brilliant! Well done OP. I'm sure it will be noticeable even if you still have a way to go for your ideal weight. Flowers

Well done! I've been doing the same using MFP although I rarely go on it now as I just approximate and have lost 3 stone since beginning of year, the first 2 pretty quickly and the third much slower another 1.5 to go. Nothing to be disappointed about, 4 stone is huge!!

I just wanted to say there's a FB group of MNers who started losing in Jan this year and we help each other along, I'm sure you'd be very welcome if it would be helpful to have others in the same situation? We all had at least a couple of stone to lose. The group is secret so you won't be able to search for it but I'll check replies on this thread and let you know how to join when I work out how Grin

THIS - well done a 4st loss is amazing, utterly jealous Smile

Aloooonngg time ago i lost about 4 st (since put it all back on) and it takes ages for your head to catch up with your body. I used to pick up size 18s when i was a small size 12. In my head i was still large. Now i would be over the moon to be a size 14 (half a dress size to go)!

4st in a year is loads and probably a sensible rate. You must feel so much better in yourself, well done for keeping the motivation going.

You have done what 99% of us trying to do, fail to do (me included). Give yourself a break and enjoy your sucess so far.

Really well done, you sound like you've done it sensibly yet are still having a life re nights out! I envy your motivation & strength not to chuck it in if you've gone a bit wild.

So jealous. I'm mentality planning my food for tomorrow. I'm going to give it a go again.

I also have a fitbit. Do you stick to the 1450 per day or are you allowing mfp to adjust your allowance with exercise?

Honey what's the group called. I'd love to join

Pacific - indeed. Not missed nearly as much as I thought I would!

Juggling - I do sometimes, yes. I have mfp set on the lose two pounds a week goal thing, and my activity level set at sedentary. I don't always, or I'll sort of save them knowing I'll use more calories at the weekend or whatever. The walking thing is as much about my mental health too.
