Weight loss going spookily well. Help!

Hi, I'm a Mum of 2, my you gest is 7.5 months. I put on weight before my first pregnancy and just kept piling it on through the second as well. In January I weighed 16 stone 8 (I'm 5ft 8) and I just gave up sugar and refined carbs and lost 7 pounds in 4 weeks. Then I plateau'd. At the beginning of April at 15 stone 13.5, I started eating really healthily. I cook everything from scratch, avoid all sugar and refined carbs but also avoid butter and cheese. I'm eating 2000 kcal a day and aiming for under 40% carbs. I'm also breastfeeding and swimming 3 x a week. I'm doing really well and the weight is just dropping off! I'm currently 14 stone 7.5 so have lost 2 stone since January.

I'm actually a bit spooked as I've never been able to lose weight this easily before. I weigh myself weekly and often have lost 2-3 pounds. I'm aiming for a healthy BMI so need to be 11 stone 10 to have a BMI of 24.9.

My questions are...
Am I losing weight this well because of the breastfeeding? I feel a time pressure to maximise this effect because I'm considering fully weaning at 12 months.
Is it because I'm having no unnecessary wasted calories?
Is it because it's easier to lose weight when our hormones are stable (my periods haven't restarted yet)

I'm really interested to hear your stories of weight loss while breastfeeding.

Thanks!

B xxx

I saw a similar weight loss at similar weight/height when avoiding alcohol and sugar, but not BF.

Although I was doing more exercise so swings/roundabouts.

Maybe when your DC is older you'll have more time to dodge childcare get down the gym? Will help tone up and get stronger etc.
