Just been using mfp for six weeks and I'm ten pounds down already. They said 1200 cal but I'm adding on an extra 200 each day as I still bf at night. Exercise aerobics three times a week for the last year and nothing was budging. Stopped all sugar. ..nothing budged. But calorie counting has worked. Grin

Sorry but what is mfb?

MyFitnessPal

You can find breastfeeding listed as a food.

It's a great way to learn how to eat better too if you pay attention to the carb, protein and fat targets.

I love mfp too have dropped from 16-18 to 12-14 since the beginning of January. Have lost just over 1.5 stones. Have massively increased my exercise but serious calorie counting and have still been eating cake and chocolate biscuits. Went into house of Fraser on Friday just to try on expensive size 12 clothes. It felt good!

Love it, have been on it just short of a year and lost almost 2 stone (I cheat most weekend!)

I eat, drink and feel so much better Grin

I have just started using it, so I'm glad to see it works for some. I was really worried it would drag me down into obsessive food thoughts/calorie counting - what's your experience been with that aspect? Trying to lose 2.5 stone overall but at least ten pounds by June...

I don't feel I've been over obsessed with it but I've had lots (and lots) of weekends off which is why it's taken so long so that's probably why I haven't thought too much of it

Hi, i have lots of weekends off too!! Do you log them?? i do and it puts me well above my weekly average but i am losing weight??

I love mfp as well-only started 3 weeks ago and have lost 3 kilos.
However I am ebf at the moment and when I try to add breastfeeding as a food it keeps not taking the 500 calories off that it allows in the search function. Anyone else had this problem??

Yup, it works! It's a real wake up call too, makes you lots more mindful!

I was totally shocked at first at how many cals everything contains, cereal being the worst! I was eating 3 cups a time! Shock

Grin it's fab. I look at things that before id just munch in without any thought and now I'm Shock that it takes up a third of my daily cal etc.

A nice trick for a weekend off is to see how many calories mfp suggests would maintain your weight. I find it really helpful when I'm having more treats but don't want to go totally backwards! I realised I could eat another 1000 cals a day before I would actually be putting weight back on again Biscuit Wine Smile

Ive got this one too, also one called myplate is good, but it deffo makes you aware of your intake, listing what you eat really highlights, when you dont write it down you can easily become a secret snacker... you even hide the truth from yourself lol!

I love it. Last night for example we were having a fry up. Well I had enough calories left for four items rather than the six or seven options. Cue me frantically trying to work out which combination offered the most in terms of satisfaction Smile

Before using mfp I'd have just had everything!

Mfp is the only thing I've done lately which helps me lose weight. Back on it now with a stone to lose. I find if I stick to the 1200 calorie allowance I lose weight much more quickly than it predicts, which is nice Smile

I've just started using this and tried putting in 30 day shred as exercise and it won't let me anybody know why?

Report
pinkr · 22/05/2015 08:27

I don't know I'm afraid although I have heard it over estimates calories burned during exercise so don't eat too many back!

I'm a stone down and back to my pre -baby weight!
So pleased and happy. Determined to keep going as well as I am still probably a stone over my ideal weight.
I have six weeks till my holidays so I've booked an extra day at the childminder the week before my hols and I'm going to go shopping myself and actually buy some new clothes in my new size. Grin

I started using MFP on Monday and am due to weigh again this Monday, first couple of days I found it quite hard as felt quite hungry but now less than a week in I can easily manage on the recommended calories, glad to hear it works.
