Calorie-counting

Fed up of feeling frumpy after having a baby

Title says it all really, still carrying around a stone of extra weight after having baby 10 months ago, keep trying to calorie count last a day or two then end up eating junk to get through the day after an exhausting night with DD.

Am back at work in 3 months, I'm hoping I can lose this stone by then and start to feel better about myself. Am hoping it is achievable as just feel awful and unhealthy at the moment.

Do you have the My Fitness Pal app? I found that really effective. Also, could you chop up a big bowl of salad and a big bowl of fruit salad for the fridge? Then whenever you do a meal/sadwich you can add in the salad or when you fancy a quick snack can grab a portion of fruit salad?

Yes I do have MFP so will try to log everything on there. Just need to try to be more organised about it I think.

Me too, I'm on baby number two and also have a stone to shift. I hate it. It's not so much the extra weight, it's that my shape has changed- I have a big, wobbly tum and love handles, whereas before, I had a teeny waist. This means that I can't fit into a lot of my old clothes and the ones that do fit don't look right anymore. Bleuch.

Are you still breastfeeding? I found that, first time round, I lost more weight when I finished feeding (BF makes me really hungry). You might find that being back at work helps- less access to tasty snacks! I've started running in attempt to up my fitness levels (can only manage twice a week though). Also, have you got a back pack carrier or comfy sling? Then You could take your baby for some lovely autumn hikes.

I do think maybe I will find it easier once at work, I tend to lose weight easier when in a good routine. I've started logging calories this morning, I am aiming to eat 3 meals and 1 or 2 healthy snacks. Hopefully if I've planned what I'm eating I won't go off track. I'm not breastfeeding so no excuse to be holding onto the fat. Know what you mean about change in body shape, I wonder if it ever comes back?!
