buttercream

I have just made my first Victoria sponge in about 10 years. It looks awful! One of the cakes broke in half and so it looks like something a 5 year old has made. Its just for me and DH though, so its fine!

Anyhoo... I have made far too much buttercream (DH doesn't eat normal cream!) Can I freeze what's left?
