Check it out: www.spearmintandthyme.com/ Only took 2 hours!
Have spent months and months agonising over trying to build a website and have wasted so much money on them in the past;
1&1, Godaddy etc etc
Last night I gave up and just tried to do a quick, freebie website and stumbled across Weebly.com.
It's amazing! All of the icons are drag and drop and it looks so professional! It's completely free and links it to your host (if you have bought a domain) or hosts it for you!
The only thing you have is a bar at the bottom advertising Weebly and for a (reasonable) fee you can have that off!
Thought i'd share my discovery so no one else has to struggle like I did for a decent website!

PS. I know its minimal but that was my choice - you can have something much more complex

Your products are just beautiful!
Nice website, only took you 2 hours?! Congratulations
The only thing is that when you click on a link, the page changes below the main picture, which is a bit confusing at first because I expected it to jump to the new page.
I'm having a hugely unsuccessful play with WordPress tonight but my business is actually a website, so not sure if I should get it done professionally (and I don't have a host yet so not sure if I can make my own, proper newbie I am!)
I'm interested in using the same software if it was easy, but your site doesn't appear to be working - there's nothing under "hair slides" "crown" or "hair combs" and your booking tab says you've not configured it. I'm only telling you to be constructive, not negative.

hi, i havent done all the pages yet
good heads up about the page header. Just sorted that out.
It really is very simple to use and you can do all sorts on it - blog, forum, polls, sales etc

I just did a lovely little one and pressed "save" and it reverted back to the original template. Twice.
I think I have a lot to learn about this web thingy.
Ah, OK. That explains it. I'll bookmark it and give it a bash sometime then.
Do you think it would be suitable for a website actually selling stuff? As in an actual shop?

Definitely. That's what I'm doing with mine.
There are plenty of different options for products - you drag and drop your preferred format (big picture, large description etc) and it has an "add to cart" button. Using PayPal, it adds everything to a cart and then the customer checkouts with PayPal (linked to your PayPal account)
This bit is completely new - PayPal have only just launched the Cart option. Before you had to pay for each item individually - and is fantastic because the equivalent in independent web design is £3-4000 worth.
I've done it for a few of my products; I just haven't had time to finish and "publish" yet
Can I just ask how you bought your domain name?

On godaddy.com - weebly can be connected to quite easily

Ifancyanewname - I've added products to the website now so it has a store section. Have a look and see whether if it is the kind of online shop that you would instal for yourself
Excellet, thank you Notachoc, that would be fine for me to begin with certainly. I dont really want to pay a monthly amount before I'm even making any money!! Your website looks lovely, and your products are gorgeous!

thanks for that notachocolateraisin, it is very useful, and your site looks good.
No criticism, but have you thought about asking someone else to read through your text for tiny errors?

Yeah, need it proof reading - thanks for the link.
Looking good, newname! Glad you found it easy to use
Really like your websites, fantastic considering you did it yourselves. I'm also starting up an online retail business and have discovered moonfruit.com for free sites. They're really good so far and the support is fantastic. My site's still being built, but once live I'll pop back over and share :-)
Best of luck with your enterprises!!

I'm using moon fruit too, a bit more versatile than weebly. Not sure it'll be so easy to transfer domain though as its super easy in weebly!

Your site looks great OP.
Just be aware that Moonfruit sites do not look good on tablets etc as they are not compatible. Something I think Moonfruit should have sorted out ages ago - also their customer support is hideous.
