Bullying

does short term exclusion work in tackling bullying?

I am at my wits end with child bullying my child at school. School's latest suggestion is exclusion - does anyone have experience of this being an effective remedy? Also does anyone have any ideas about how this works when the child returns from their period of exclusion - should they just return and nothing be said, or do they need a 'return to school' meeting / warning?

I really think it would depend on what happens to the child during the exclusion period. If he/she is allowed to just crack on playing and having a ball whilst excluded then I don't think it will make alot of difference once the child returns.

So sorry you DC is going through this.

thanks. I am not sure, the child's parents seem a bit delusional about the level of harm he is inflicting, even disputing he is actually bullying, and so I think he will be go home and be comforted about the injustice he is suffering. Though maybe I am being harsh. The only thing is - what else can be done?
