Facebook are thus far refusing to take down this hateful and incredibly hurtful page. Please go to the page (don't scroll down - it's disgusting) and report immediately. When you get the notification from FB that "We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards.", you can leave feedback, and tell them that they are very clearly wrong. Thanks!

Need your support on this, Mumsnet!

JanePlanet Sat 03-May-14 07:44:30

How is this allowed! Reported it about ten times.

lucidlady Sat 03-May-14 07:55:24

I think it's gone - can't find it!

Figster Sat 03-May-14 07:56:51

I thought this was going to be another UKIP thread grin

BankWadger Sat 03-May-14 07:59:25

I hope it is gone now, but then fb's view of bfing is especially supportive at the best of times. angry

deepinthewoods Sat 03-May-14 08:00:49

It's still there.

I don't want to post the link though.

BankWadger Sat 03-May-14 08:05:24

Isn't rather

MiaSparrow Sat 03-May-14 08:12:00

I know they only want a rise out of us mums and there'll always be this level of pond life on FB (thankfully they have very few Likes), but it's the fact that the reports are falling on deaf ears on Facebook that gripes. Surely they have a responsibility to take it down?

ElizabethJennings Sat 03-May-14 09:14:41

I reported it, Facebook don't give a shit.

LeonardoAcropolis Sat 03-May-14 09:19:49

Repoted, it's awful! Not even a rational page, truly bizarre.

missknows Sat 03-May-14 11:54:06

wow, just wow. Got as far as 'mouthrape' and stopped reading and pressed report!

BankWadger Sat 03-May-14 13:28:58

Reported it now I'm on my laptop. Also joined the remove this page group.

MrsDiesel Sat 03-May-14 13:33:23

I think it's gone, or I cant find it, can someone please post a link.

gamerchick Sat 03-May-14 13:35:54

It was quite obviously a pisstake but if enough people report it then they'll take it down probably.

MrsDiesel Sat 03-May-14 13:40:52

I have found and reported it now.

5madthings Sat 03-May-14 13:43:26

I reported it yesterday and got told it doesn't violate Fb community standards!

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 13:44:06

Can someone post a link for the remove this page group as I cannot find the disgusting page to report it.

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 13:46:25

They want to ban BF?

That will have quite a large impact on millions of babies around the world with no other form of nutrition available.

Seems a little harsh.

On what basis do they want to ban the feeding of human babies?

Will babies of other mammals still be allowed to consume their mothers milk or will that be banned as well?

How utterly weird.

sickofthisshite Sat 03-May-14 13:50:18

5madthings Sat 03-May-14 14:02:09

They want to ban breastfeeding because it's 'mouthrape' apparently.. It's clearly a goading twat(s) getting a perverse enjoyment from being provocative etc. But it is hate speech and there is sexualized content and it's discriminatory etc the page needs to go.. But then Fb doesn't like bfeeding anyway so maybe it's their idea..

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 14:06:23

WTF!! angry

Facebook is a cesspit run by women hating fuckwits. I wish it would just disappear.

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 14:06:32

But all mammals breastfeed.

If you ban it then mammals will die out.

His position seems rather peculiar.

5madthings Sat 03-May-14 14:14:41

Sadly sardines one of the people running the page is a woman..

mrscog Sat 03-May-14 14:14:57

It's just a ridiculous joke page which should be ignored.

gamerchick Sat 03-May-14 14:17:54

Yep it is..

BathroomDrama Sat 03-May-14 14:18:21

'mouthrape' - just when you think you've heard it all.

But honestly - why bother engaging with the idiots? It's not like it's going to change their view or change anyone else's view to thinking they might be right.

They're winding you up and your taking the bait.

BathroomDrama Sat 03-May-14 14:19:28

LOL - Oh how I wish for an edit button sometimes. You're taking the bait...

BUMP FFS!!!!!!! Please report, people!!!!!!!!!

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 14:41:12

Report which?

The FB page or the twat above??

I have done both grin

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 14:49:08

I don't understand why it would be OK for all mammals to feed their young, expect for humans, resulting in the deaths of millions of babies around the world.

What is the logic in this? Is it something to do with overpopulation? confused Seems like a terribly callous thing to do.

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 14:50:38

talk about panties in a bunch

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 14:55:24

Shut up Ronald and take your sparkling wit sorry sexist drivel elsewhere.
You are not as funny as you think you are.

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 14:58:27

Is this your policy ronald?

You should probably do some kind of impact study on global infant mortality before you take it further. I think you will find it hard to convince the powers that be to enforce this, to be quite honest.

5madthings Sat 03-May-14 15:00:55

I am not taking the bait, I haven't and won't post on their page but I will report, why should we leave it to stand? Or should we leave racist, disability crap to stand as well? Where do draw the line at leaving vile hate speech and an encouragement to break the law (by discriminating against bfeeding mothers) what should be left to stand and what should be stopped?! Of course it needs to be reported.

Chaby Sat 03-May-14 15:03:50

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 15:09:57

some fools putting a page on facebook that disagrees with what you think

better close the internet

this isn't 'vile hate speech' or 'racist, disability, crap'
this is simply something you don't agree with

you've complained to FB and they have said it's fine, in their opinion, on their forum

grow thicker skin and ignore nonsense and things you can't change

nicename Sat 03-May-14 15:16:37

Yup the internet is full of gobshites. Sadly the ones that instigate such rubbish think they are being funny or provocative, but the scary ones are the ones who actually take it seriously.

Yet another reason I am happy not to facebook.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 15:17:24

We can't change anything if we sit on our arses and say nothing.

Women's rights and equality was not achieved by ignoring what was happening or saying nothing was it?

It is a public forum as is this one and both have a duty to ensure no kind of discrimination goes on.

Your statement is exactly why people should speak out as the world has too many closed minded, head in the sand, it's not my fight people in it.

You sound and absolute pleasure to know. hmm

nicename Sat 03-May-14 15:34:50

Who me? What do you know about what I do on a day to day basis? I work for a charity, so get involved face to face with the homeless and people in recovery.

How very judgemental.

Raskova Sat 03-May-14 15:39:40

I've seen a hell of a lot of breast feeding and birth pics removed. Potentially, fb doesn't like bf! hmm

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 15:39:46

No it was directed at Ronald.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 15:43:38

FB doesn't like BF but has countless pictures of women displaying all but nipples in various 'sexy' poses and underwear.
If this kind of FB picture/page can remain I do not understand why a picture of a baby BF should be removed.

This is why speaking out is important.

Ridiculous suggestion as the entire species of everybody and mammal would die out.
Some people are truly dumb, and making a fb page about such ridiculousness is even dumber!!

& Fb is rather much like Sports Direct, in that it clearly displays bazookas, bras and sexy clothing but cannot allow something as natural as breastfeedinggrin

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 15:59:24

hey funnyfoot

and breathe

breastfeeding is important to you, fine.
not to others, fine
offensive to some, fine
joyous to others, fine

a fb page blethering about banning breastfeeding is not the same as hate speech, not the same as being racist and not the same as being disablist
lots of women find public breastfeeding distasteful ...what about their equality?
lots of women think there is utterly no need to breastfeed..what about their rights?

it may not be to you taste but that is something you'll have to learn to deal with
people hold other views
calm down

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle Sat 03-May-14 16:00:29

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 16:04:30

Banning breastfeeding will result in the deaths of millions of babies globally.

That is surely pretty hateful?

Most people react adversely to the idea of babies dying, let alone en masse and due to entirely avoidable starvation.

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 16:07:28

Oh and a woman's right to BF in the UK is enshrined in law, it is illegal to try and stop her. I imagine the same throughout Europe? Of course in many parts of the world you don't need laws to say women are allowed to BF because if women don't BF then babies don't get food, and most people (not all, obviously) understand that babies need feeding if they are not to die, and don't want babies to die.

It's all quite straightforward when you think about it.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:08:37

Don't tell me to breath it makes you look like an idiot.

Having a personal opinion is one thing but starting a FB page calling for it's banning is another.

Women who do not like/want to breast feed are not having their choice damned on a public forum therefore their equality remains in tact.

It is a very Western point of view to see BF as gross, perverse or an act of public indecency. However breasts can be viewed in all their glory as long as it is on a beach. page three on some smutty lads mag. This is the point of view I challenge.

*it may not be to you taste but that is something you'll have to learn to deal with
people hold other views
calm down*

In the same vain Ronald my BF in public may not be to everyone else's taste so shouldn't they calm down and deal with it also instead of creating FB groups?

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:09:49

i didn't, i told you to breathe

all cleared up now

deepinthewoods Sat 03-May-14 16:10:53

lots of women find seeing diasbled people distasteful ...what about their equality?
lots of women think there is utterly no need use a wheelchair..what about their rights?

See how silly it sounds.?

People who find public breastfeeding disatesteful should stay home, or keep a muslin to drape over their face in case the horrific sight of an infant being fed is too utterly dreadful to bear.

My heart bleeds with sympathy for those poor offended people.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:13:03

Before you correct my post may I suggest you read your own and check for mistakes

it may not be to you taste

I didn't correct you before as I can hold a debate without resorting to pointing out grammatical or spelling errors.hmm

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:14:01

clearly your opinions on what is acceptable on fb is v different than what fb thinks

i know that this is a subject that for some reason makes people lose their senses however i think you are all getting your panties in a twist over nothing
feed your kids and stop imagining that everyone else feels the same way or wants to view you doing it or understand BFing from your point of view

for a large majority of people it is a meh subject

Can it not be reported to the police as hate speech or something? I thought they took the whole FB thing seriously now.

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:16:08

funny you are so cross it is funny

this is just someone disagreeing with you on the internet over a fb page you couldn't even see.......calm down

i was pointing out that i didn't tell you to breath, seemed fair

Lanabelle Sat 03-May-14 16:16:30

pretty sure this breaks the equality act 2010 so I double checked and yep...... to quote

"The Equality Act says that it is sex discrimination to treat a woman unfavourably because she is breastfeeding. It applies to anyone providing services, benefits, facilities and premises to the public, public bodies, further and higher education bodies and association. Service providers include most organisations that deal directly with the public. Service providers must not discriminate, harass or victimise a woman because she is breastfeeding."

the page is discriminatory and harassing and going by the photos does appear to victimise also

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:19:44

hate speech does not cover breastfeeding
that is simply the method some people chose to feed their kids

no breastfeeding isn't the same as the areas covered by hate speech laws as they cover things that cannot be chosen

this is just how you feed a baby and whether someone thinks it should be other than you view it

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:21:49

Yes they do Ronald hence why I voice and will continue to voice the opinion that BF haters groups should not be on FB.

In regards to losing my senses I do not see how you have come to this conclusion?

You also seem to be very interested in my panties as that his twice you have mentioned them. I am not 6 years old and prefer to wear knickers or underwear.

I do not imagine that anybody should share my point of view or feed there children the same way but what I do EXPECT is that my choice on how I feed my children is not up for public ridicule or damnation.

As I said earlier the women's vote used to be a meh subject for a large majority of men and some women. Didn't stop people changing that view did it? Or are you one of these that think women do not deserve the right to vote?

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:22:38

good luck with that legal point lana

you guys are choosing to go onto facebook to be offended about something that you hold dear to you
some of you couldn't even find the page to get offended....
facebook believes that others have the right to hold their opinions, no matter how strange

i find this circular now and will allow you to continue unaided

RonaldMcDonald Sat 03-May-14 16:24:22

lol <seriously this is the end>

again why do you think that what you choose to call your underwear should dictate what i choose to call them
this is the nub of the issue..you can't control others in rl or on the internet.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:28:46

Did you see the disgusting FB page a couple of months ago that had a thread started about it, it was full of pictures of children in various states of undress and sexual poses?
This person that started it had and those that liked and commented had the opinion that this was ok and that there was nothing wrong with viewing children in this way. Given your above statement you must also think that this is also fine , yes?

LoveSardines Sat 03-May-14 16:29:07

How can anyone be "meh" at the concept of banning BF and the global consequences that will entail?

It's a ludicrous proposition, inhumane and bizarre.

Surprised anyone on MN would support it TBH. Takes all sorts I guess.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:30:12

You are leaving because you are unable to make a valid point as to why a FB page started that calls for BF to be banned is ok. Not for any other reason.

I started a thread with a link to a petition to get this FB page removed, link to thread (don't think I'm allowed to link the petition directly on here) I have just checked, the page is still there, and there is an absolutely appalling picture of Ian Watkins being used now sad

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:40:21

Ronald will be along shortly to tell you to leave it be and not get your panties in a twist about something you can't change.

Isn't that right Ronald?

Well Ronald is entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to be absolutely disgusted that over 500 people 'like' a page full of hate and bile, who are now using images of known and convicted pedophiles as a 'joke' (waiting to see if Facebook will remove that particular image) sad

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:50:09

The whole thing disgusts me.

This idea that women's breasts are ok to be seen as long as they are shown in a sexual way but not for feeding a baby sickens me.

TheBoysMamma Sat 03-May-14 16:53:36

How do you report a page?

It's awful Funny sad I've been back to try to view it with an open mind, but it's just horrible!!

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 16:55:38

Somewhere on the right hand side of a FB page is a little cog. Click that and it should give you the option to report.

JiltedJohnsJulie Sat 03-May-14 16:58:30

I can't find the page either. Do you think its been taken down now?

TheBoysMamma Sat 03-May-14 16:58:35

ZingWatermelon Sat 03-May-14 17:03:02

disgusting.angry and utter shite

never been on Facebook - yet another reason to not feel I'm missing out.

If bf in public got banned it would last exactly as long as the patience of people who'd have to listen to screaming babies non-stop.

just nonsense

deepinthewoods Sat 03-May-14 17:03:39

It's still there- I can't find the report button.

Unfortunately it's very much still there and FB are refusing to remove the IW image too sad

On my app, under the covers photo there is a choice of like, share, message, more ... click more and you get a report option. Don't hold your breath though sad

deepinthewoods Sat 03-May-14 17:21:27

Thanks- I have reported.

Iamrandom Sat 03-May-14 19:08:12

Perhaps complaining to the companies who advertise on Facebook will have more effect. This tactic appears to have "focused the minds" of people at Facebook regarding other similar issues.

Iamrandom Sat 03-May-14 19:09:09

Perhaps complaining to the companies who advertise on Facebook will have more effect. This tactic appears to have "focused the minds" of people at Facebook regarding other similar issues.

missknows Sat 03-May-14 19:25:55

Facebook messaged back to say they are not banning it!!!

missknows Sat 03-May-14 19:26:20

Has anyone posted it anywhere with more traffic (chat/AIBU)?

gamerchick Sat 03-May-14 19:45:41

I just went back for another look.. it's clearly a pisstaking jokey page.. she (and i'm assuming one of them is a she since the photo up of boobs is a selfie) has even said so far down that people need to stop taking the page seriously.

It's just not worth getting all heated up about it.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 22:50:50

Don't get me wrong I have a sense of humour (forces brat so it is pretty dark) but this is not funny. This is wrong and needs to be stopped.

BankWadger Sat 03-May-14 23:50:38

Nothing funny about likening breast feeding to rape.

FunnyFoot Sat 03-May-14 23:53:17

StackALee Sat 03-May-14 23:57:15

I think it's worth mentioning that someone on Facebook has complaind about this page specifically because their photo was used on the page in the mouth rape bit. Maybe RonaldMcDonald thinks that is ok too?

FunnyFoot Sun 04-May-14 00:02:43

Ronald thinks that if some one has a different point of view or opinion you should let it be and not in any way attempt to change it. Because.....that is there right!

Ronald also thinks that any women who strongly fights/has a voice against such misogynistic twiddle should 'calm down' and not get their 'panties in a bunch' hmm Pleasant isn't it?

NeedsAsockamnesty Mon 05-May-14 12:06:44

How do you report a group if your using a iPad?

I can't find an option to

No idea Socks I don't have an i pad but on Android, just under the cover photo are links to like, share message and more, if you click more it gives you a report option.

Hey, I think it's been taken down, I can't search/find or follow a link to it! Anyone else?

BoobyandtheBeads Thu 08-May-14 14:31:55

I know I don't post on here usually but felt I had to let you know that this vile and disgusting page has now been removed from Facebook. They were using one of my photographs, from my recent media appearance about me breastfeeding my 5 year old, so I shared the petition on as many breastfeeding and parent related pages as I could and had hundreds of ladies reporting the posts and page to facebook. I even went as far as reporting the page to the police and another child abuse/explicit adult content reporting page too. I'm so glad that it's gone and I know I have put myself out there in the media but not for my photograph of myself and my daughter to be used in this way.

ZingWatermelon Thu 08-May-14 15:01:11

well done for getting it taken down.thanks

ExBrightonBell Thu 08-May-14 17:48:30

Hey, well done Booby. I reported it also, plus reporting individual images. I'm glad it has been removed as just reporting the individual images made me feel sick to the stomach with the horrific nature of them. Glad it was worth doing.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle Thu 08-May-14 20:03:36

Well done!

BoobyandtheBeads Fri 09-May-14 13:23:36
gamerchick Fri 09-May-14 13:59:59

So dont feed the trolls. They go away faster if you don't feed them.

BoobyandtheBeads Fri 09-May-14 14:19:48

Oh definitely. I am more concerned that they are illegally using a photograph of me and my daughter.

gamerchick Fri 09-May-14 18:13:40

Thing is though once you give permission for somebody to use your photos and it's 'out there' it no longer belongs to you. You can complain to facebook reporting the photo only but it's probably up to them to take it down since it's already been used in the media and is all over the internet now anyway.

BoobyandtheBeads Fri 09-May-14 21:51:09

I have contacted the Sun's editor that did my article and she has put their lawyers onto it because they don't have the sun's permission to use it. Just because it's out in the public domain doesn't mean it's free of copywright.
