Infant feeding

Breast feeding = big tits..... but I want to go running!

ds is now 7 weeks, and i have got really really itchy feet to go out running again. Problem is that I am breastfeeding and am now a 34F. I don't think I will be comfortable running, won't find a decent sports bra big enough and worry about the damage I could do to my breasts!

If... i introduce one bottle of formula a day will my breasts reduce in size??? Will I have enough milk to feed him the rest of the time, if I change my mind and want to bf 100% again will my milk supply return.

Leogaela tbh I dont think one bottle will do much to reduce your breasts in size sorry I remember being so excited at being able to go horseriding after ds was born but it killed me and I had to ride with one hand on the reins and one holding my boobs - until a car came then I'd have to let them go

Um, running is my worst nightmare but agree that one bottle won't reduce your size.
Run straight after feeding, and get two good sports bras and wear one on top of the other?

I started running again at about 10 weeks but I found it was too exhausting, mainly because DS was a bit of a porker I think!

M&S sports bras are really supportive I found, but do get the proper bra-looking one, NOT a halter top type as they don't provide nearly enough support.

I was about a 34E-F at your stage and I used to express a bit of milk to bring them down to a manageable size for running! Give them a wash when you get back before you offer boob. DS didn't appreciate the sweat! (I used to feed him them shower when he was napping).

thanks for the advice! I didn't run almost the whole pregnancy so am going to start again as a beginner - I've been doing lots of walking so hopefully I won't find it too tiring to do a short sloooooooow run.

bfing fanatics may find this REALLY selfish (especially as bfing has gone perfectly well for me), but I keep thinking how about how soon I can give up bfing with a clear concience so I can really get back into running again! I confess I bought a pack of formula milk today!

Good idea to run straight after a feed! I don't live in the UK so can't get to m&s so may find it difficult to find a big enough sports bra here (I had to order a 34F feeding bra as no one here seems to stock them!!!!!)!

Leogaela, I have been running lots recently after putting it off for ages at boobs so big as bfing too. I have a sports bra from M&S and them wear a sports vest-top with a support bit over the top for extra scaffolding. It's been fine. Though I don't exactly run fast.....

My feet are even itchier now!!! I am going to dig out my pre-pregnancy sports bras now and see if there is any hope that they will fit so I can run at the weekend , if not i'll have to wait until next week when to go shopping !

I look at my old bras in complete disbelief! And other (non bfing) people's boobs! They are totally flat, on the whole !

Yes, I know what you mean!!! Also shirts and some tops I was wearing before look as if they were made for a midget when I try them on!
Some people find that after they stop bfing they end up smaller than they were before they were pg! I hope so !

So which bra do you have from M&S (just checked out the website and will buy online) - the level 3 non-wired sports bra or the crop top sports bra?

My back is so much wider than before too.

I have the non-wired one. Think there is another thread on here where a fab bra is recommended (buy via internet). I wanted to get it but it was quite pricey. Maybe have a look at that if you have to order one anyway?? Try an archive search (sorry, can't remember thread title)

Your back! Hmmm, it could be, I'll have to check that out as well!

Thanks! Off to get a some sleep now before ds (my little angel) wakes up again!

I tried to order the sports bra from M&S, but they take orders from outside the UK but only deliver to addresses within the UK !!!!!! How stupid is that!

I found a 34E sports bra here (the biggest one I could get) and its too small ! If I wear 2 and a supportive top as well I think I can get away with it, but I am bulging and bouncing out of the top, but was so p!ssed off with my big tits today that I gave ds a bottle of formula to start slowly weaning him off the breast. He didn't have any problem taking hte bottle and seemed ot enjoy the formula!

Am I being really, really selfish ???? I think ffing is fine, but somehow I feel a bit guilty, selfish and disappointed with myself!

It may take some time for your boobs to go back down - reducing feeds will make them larger and more uncomfortable, at least at first.

I really like Berlei sports bras. I'm not at all busty, but I know they make them for larger sizes.

I wear a sports bra as my normal bra. It keeps the b**rs under control and very easy to whip them out when necessary.

I don't know why I fussed with zipper cups and drop cups all those years.
