HI

Just wondering if anyone can help. I have a 7week DS3 who is totally breast fed (I say this as I breast fed DS1 and ds2 but also gave a bottle of formula at night, so v pleased with myself this time )

Anyway have had a few issues this time with soreness and possibility of baby having thrush but was feeling that things were improving. Had a sore breast on one side for half a day this week but cleared by feeding and then expressing anything left and it went.

Anyway yetersday the other breast starting feeling sore underneath and to the side nearest the arm, made moving arm sore, anyway fed on that side and losened bra as it felt tender where it was sat. Again after feeding lots it felt less sore internally. When I went to bed last night I checked in the mirror as still felt sore and notice a huge red bruise in that area. My little one feeds every 2-3hours so slept without a bra and thought it would was left over from the soreness blockage ? during the day.

Anyway this morning the bruise is still there and various red colours and feels tender to touch, just had hot bath and think I can feel a lump there. I'm a bit squimish so find hard to poke to much

Sorry this is so long, it wasn't meant to be! anyway could this be a bruise or is it likely to be blockage, its still sore but mainly externally, if its a blockage what can I do?? I think possibly a bruise as only DS's can be rough when piling in for a cuddle!

Thanks for reading

soudns like a blockage. Bra may be pressing on a duct. try alternating hto and cold on tahrea , massage in shower and wet combing. Changing feed position may help too.

Get a nice wet soapy surface and wide rounded toothed comb then brush gently but firmly towards nipple.
