Well ds is 15 months and he has just had his last ever bf. Can't believe I got this far with it...

Well done Janeybops. You've done really well to go that long. I did dd1 for six months and dd2 for 3/4 months. Felt really tied with dd2 so wanted to stop earlier.

CONGRATULATIONS janeybops!

Bet you are feeling a bit sad about it though aren't you? I did when my last child stopped b/fing. I caught myself peeking at a woman b/fing in public yesterday - she must have thought me rude, but I was just remembering back to how nice it was.

Euphoria tinged with sadness? My DS is 2 and I went to buy a new bra today - really must stop feeding him soon!! Not having anymore though and can't quite get my act together..

Good luck.

yoyo that was how I was feeling but the lure of a comfy underwired bra has done it for me!! Can't wait, but bet none of my old ones fit me now.

Also watching little Britain and the man who still breast feeds made me cringe a bit! Know it isn't quite the same but thought ds might start talking/asking for a bit of titty soon!

Am a little sad but haven't cried (yet)

Janeybops - after a feed DS says "more booby. I like it". I know it can't continue! Perhaps I should watch a whole episode of LB - I only ever seem to catch the Llandewi Brefi sketch.

Last week the man was at the altar getting married when he felt a bit peckish. He said I do with his mouthful!

I hope I get as far as you have - well done!

Mind you, v. jealous of your impending return to underwired bars

Well done!
did he just decide to stop (as my ds1 did at 16 mo) or did you?

my ds2 is 17 months and still goes to bed with a bf. Don't know when it's going to stop, certainly before he goes to school

I've been in underwired bras in the daytime for ages now I can't bear the feeling of my saggy old baps brushing my knees

I get up in the morning and look like Pammy Anderson. Sadly my titties are deflated by lunchtime and I simply cannot be seen in public

LOL highlander
I just missed ds2's evening feed because I took ds1 to see the Australia day fireworks and I must say I'm pretty pumped up now myself

i stopped feeding my boy last week, he's 2 nxt month. is fantastic, don't miss it at all & he only wakes up once a night instead of 7 times! don't let me put ne1 off tho. i loved feeding him the last few months were rough tho.

Ahh, I cried after last breast feed. Now I find beaker drinking cuddles just as nice.

I just joined here and i'm really glad to find some other mamas bf'ing over one year olds... i'm just starting to get the "your're STILL doing that?" questions (ds2 is only 16 months!).

Janeybops! Congratuations! Tell us all about your new bras...

... i must admit that i've recently gone underwired (and padded!) too, I bought a top in a bogof sale and had to hurriedly grab something of the equivalent value (£2.50!) which turned out to be a 34D (D!) padded, underwired bra (the only other available was a 32A (which I seem to remember being at one point) or a sky-blue boob tube with a coconut palm on it.) I was stunned when it fitted me (perfectly) and even more stunned when I looked in the mirror!!!

Anway, hugs to you all and especially you janeybobs!

Steph

Hercules - i'm hoping to have some time to myself tonight to have a really thorough read of these boards - i've just found out how to click the 'active threads' link, so am probably missing loads...

I fear this may be the case with me and ds2 very soon

he only gets a comfort feed just before bed and last week I took ds2 out and dh gave a bottle, not in bed though, and then tonight he good naturedly but emphatically said "no" to the second barrel.

I am getting very misty eyed and a bit sad, as although he is 17 mo and his brother gave up bf at the same age, bf is about the thing that I am best at in my RL.

Briggy - reassuring to note your link between BF and no. of times your DS was waking. My DS has just turned 2 and is a little blighter at night just at the moment. I don't feed him every time he wakes but he would love me to I'm sure. Have been cutting down since early last week (may even have been week before - brain scrambled) so would anticipate mid-Feb. Was determined to give him MMR before I stopped feeding and I haven't got round to that yet...
Feeling so wiped out that although I will miss it (and he's the last one) know deep down that it is time to move on.

Report
suzywong · 02/02/2005 14:56

god that's a really good point about giving mmr before stopping feeding, I'd better sort that out this week, thanks for reminding me
