Infant feeding

Any reason why DS has gone off feeding from left breast?

He squirms when I try to feed him on that side, but is happy to feed on right side. I tried the rugby hold with some success. Would it taste different? He is 18 weeks. It's only been like this for two days, although in the earky days he was better at feeding on right side as well.

My ds randomly, at least as far as I can tell, will only feed from his preferred breast for the odd day or two. I think it may be when he's a bit snuffly, also I have forceful let down and I think sometimes he avoids the one that's a real gusher! I wouldn't worry, my sister said all three of her dcs had a best breast!

My dd does this sometimes. She will avoid one breast for a couple of days, although she will feed from it when sleepy which is how I avoid engorgement. I thought perhaps it was due to sore teeth or ears on that side which made it more painful to feed. Or as emskaboo said it could be strong letdown in which case you might try expressing a bit first from the unpopular breast.

Will your ds feed from the left if he is sleepy?
