do you need to offer water when breastfeedign

not unless it is very hot and probably not even then if fed on demand.

I never did and ds was born in summer. You might have to bf more often if it is hot though.

yes fed on demand so no water then, or no sugar water as was recommended by the HV..

I never did either and first DS was born in a VERY hot summer. My mum drove me mad nagging me to give him water right from birth (she is of that generation) but to be honest I was more scared of giving him water (how much, how cold etc etc) than giving him breast whenever he wanted. He turned into quite a chubby baby...

(He is now 14 and skinny as a rake.)
