Nursing bras

I've been bfing for 2 yrs now. I didn't think I'd be feeding this long and it looks like we'll be continuing for a while yet! I only invested in a couple of nursing bras and they're now in a terrible state

Does anyone know, is it important to keep wearing the wire-free type or could I go and get fitted for a proper bra now she's down to only a couple of feeds a day? I heard mention of the wire affecting the milk glands or something and that's why they should be avoided, but I'm not sure if it's true...

I was in underwired by about 10 months and no problems. You can get underwired feeding bras, so not an issue in themselves. Get fitted properly (i.e. NOT M&S) and you should be fine

The wire issue is just if the bra isn't fitted correctly, that's when it can cause discomfort and possibly push on milk glands. (second the not M&S fitting!) GO get some wire - it makes you look like you've lost half a stone too

I couldn't wait to get back into my u/w bras (E-cup, but FF when BF), but weirdly missed the soft cup bras when I eventually swapped back! (Even tho my boobs were nearly at my belly in them ).
