Sicky baby...

LO is 3 days old, think my milk is coming in (boobies are huge and swollen and hard) she has been feeding every 2-3 hours but since last feed (12 o clock) she has fed 3 times but just keeps throwing up afterwards. Really worried that she is not getting enough. She is fast asleep now though. Could it be something to do with milk coming in or that she is just being greedy and so throwing up?

Possetting is very common among little ones, are you winding her as that can casue it also reflux due to an immature valve in the stomach , which most outgrow in a few weeks. Remember it always looks more than it actually is. As long as you continue to feed on demand she should find a way of taking enough and it settle down.

I can tell you my own experience - ds threw up a lot from his very first feed and continued to vomit after and between feeds for about 7 months, then it just stopped. GP and HV said he had reflux. Winding the baby well (stop and wind partway through the feed as well as after)is usually helpful in stopping too much coming back up.

Best thing for you to do is talk to your midwife & maybe let her see a feed and see how much milk is coming back up.
