Which positions do you feed 6 month+?

DS is 6 month and I still do most feeds lying down. Sometimes I sit cross-legged and he is in a seated twisted position. Which positions do you use for DC who can sit unsupported?

my ds 11months, either lays on my legs, or next to me in bed, but has just started to sit on my knee, faceing inwards to feed, not very subtle, but seems to work for him!

Hi somebody. Very interesting. The problem of the seated one is that seems to twist and drink "over his shoulder". The problem with the lying down is that because of his reflux, the milk comes really easily back out again. Therefore I was wondering if I should have him more upright.

The great thing as they get older is that they can do it in almost any position.

Although not always so great. I've been caught out many a time in the changing room after swimming when dd has somehow managed to latch on to one of my pendulous norks while I'm bending down trying to get my jeans on.

(Is that too much information?)

Would have thought for reflux the more upright the better though.

lol i have large norks too, and totally simpathise with the swimmingpool situation! my ds also frequently drinks over his shoulder, which is fine until he desides he wants to get down before letting go oooowwwww!

my ds (1) usually feeds cradled or lying down. sometimes whenn he's finished and crawled away, he'll come back, pull himself up on my knee and have one lastv quick suck - just to reassure himself that it's still there!

:-) To the swimmingpool situation. Can totally see that. DS starts to be self-attaching, too. So far only at night, though :-).
StealhPolarBear - you son is very cute. So it's not completely unusual to still feed lying down.
I hope the reflux will get better once DS is starting on solids (in a week or two),but I guess we will be moving to more upright positions. Thanks for sharing!
