Windy babies - Gripe water

One of my twin daughters gets really, really bad wind and no amount of back tapping, stomach rubbing, legs circling etc seems to shift it. My mum recommended gripe water and I've been using that with limited success also. My questions are that I never seem to hear anyone mention gripe water so is it a product that mothers don't really use anymore? Has it been replaced with something better and if so please tell me what ? And to those who have used it - is it more effective if given before, during or after a bottle feed (the instructions on the bottle say any of these 3 is equally effective but what do mothers think?)- I've tried all 3 but as mentioned I've had limited success with all.

Please help me if you know.

TIA

Hi.
I had a colicky baby for the first 12 wks. We tried gripe water, Infacol and Colief. Colief worked best for us, but I know other parents who swore by their chosen remedy. If you've tried all 3 methods of giving the gripe water, then it might be worth givint he other things a go. you can buy them over the counter.

Good luck - it's tough watching tham be so uncomfortable, but it does pass, usually about 12 wwks. Also, try putting her over your knee on her tummy - worked for ds.
