Just done my bit for normalizing breastfeeding....

Quite by accident.
Was in a departmental meeting at work and people were suggesting getting rid of the microwave because people have been cooking things in it which make the whole building smell and I said without thinking 'Oh no, I needed it to sterilise my breastpump when I was expressing.'

There was a mixed reaction. The women said 'yes, that's quite right' and some of the men were a bit

I think now some of my (male) colleagues think I am a scary militant breastfeeder who shoves it in their face in inappropriate situations. Ha ha.

Fabulous ! My boss once walked into my office (he normally works in a different country, and I'd forgotten he was coming over) to find me on the phone to the Jeremy Vine show re breastfeeding.

I've also expressed when on a conference call, but didn't tell them that. It was freaky for me, but I didn't have time to express, do conf call, and get out for dinner with clients on time.

LOL Cmot. I have expressed while on the phone before. Again, I didn't mention it

Glad to hear I'm not the only one

My other great expressing at work was the day before Christmas shutdown - expressed milk, put in canteen fridge in cool bag as usual. Went to do something just before the lunchtime finish, wnet to fridge - empty (they clear the fridge out of food to stop it festering, but thought that my cool bag was pretty obvious, and was labelled etc). Searched bins. Nothing. Went to Facilities 'oh yes, chucked that milk, bag in office of head of facilities'. Cue small rant by CMOT about 'but that was MY milk'. They looked so terribly, terribly embarrased that it was great !
