I had to laugh. I rang my HV as baby Jaz has constapation and has been bleeding from her little bottom since we started weaning. Hers sister was the same. Normal questions about whats she is eating, how much water, then how much milk. My reply "4 milk feeds a day", she then asks "well how much milk is she drinking", I answered "no idea shes breast fed"!!
She then started saying sorry, sorry shouldnt have assumed, sorry I didnt think sorry agian LOL. Made me smile. Why is it that past 6 months everyone assumes your FF?? The HV in the clinic did too

Because sadly there are not many of us that do bf past 6 months, but hopefully things are changing a lady came to a bf support group I volunteer at yesterday and said she was a HV and attending a bf course and had to observe someone bf and ask some questions and that they are all being retrained on breastfeeding. When she was talking to me I said I was going to bf until a year when I go back to work and she started telling me about expressing and that I could carry on (I know this but it is good that they are being trained to keep women bf if they want to continue). So hopefully lisa more women will be bf for longer and the HV will be more bf friendly.

Hope your little one gets better soon.

My hv was the opposite and assumed (correctly) that I was breastfeeding. I think it was because I am seen as the hippydippy one with the sling
