Hi, maybe you could try nipple sheilds. I used these for about 5 weeks at the start then stopped using them once my nipples hardened.
When is baby due, try using nipple cream now it may help- it did with me.

I only have one child but breast feeding for me was the hardest and most painful part of becoming a mum, I never let it get to me though and with much determination i managed to BF for 5 months and really enjoyed it.

Good luck

right as i didnt tried the nipple sheild as i thought that would make it even worse.

i tried the Avent nipple cream when i was BF nad it burns like hell. i stopped using it after the 2nd time of using it.

I think everyone has sensitive nipples and it is just a case of getting through the toe curling bit until they toughen up to be honest.

It hurt like hell each time they latched on, used to make me cry, for about the first month and then was fine.

Hurt like hell every time baby latched on for first few weeks but did get better in the end and now doesn't hurt at all so it can be done (ds is 8 months)

I used camillosan cream - its kind of oily and didn't sting at all. Failed to feed DS1 but fed both DS2 and 3 10 months apiece.

oh yes i second trying nipple shields for a few days

honestly if you get through the first couple of weeks it gets more comfortable definitely - i guess the boobs/nipples have to get used to a whole new sensation so its completely normal

Use lansinoh, it is fab stuff. I have very sensitive skin too. It still hurt LOADS for about a week, but please believe me, it truely did stop hurting (lansinoh was the reason, I am sure). I went on to have other problems, thrush and baby was sooooo hungry that I struggled to keep up. But regarding the sore nipples, if you are meticulous adn let them air dry then slap on the lansinoh you might be fine - like I was (be meticulous about washing your hands EVERY time you change the baby's nappy to reduce risk of thrush)

Try Lansinoh nippel cream, its expensive but well worth the money. Its very greasy and makes baby look like his wearing lip gloss but honest its the best one i tried and lasts for ages.
I agree with the others, its only painful for the first few weeks.

I have sensitive nipples and get vasospasm - I only managed 9 wks mixed feeding with DS when the pain just got too much BUT I am still BF DD at 8 mths.

The pain was the same but I found a good breastfeeding network locally and got loads of support, I took it one feed at a time and tho it is still uncomfortable, I manage to do daytime feeding (the nights got to be bad, it's hard to distract yourself when you are trying to keep things quiet).

I think it also helped that I knew way more about breastfeeding this time, stuff like growth spurts and demand and supply, so when family said "just give her a bottle" I knew when and why to turn that suggestion down.

The kellymom site was also a mine of information.

DD1 fed like a dream but ds2&3 made my nipples bleed at first - stuck to it cos I knew it would be ok - but check with mine they had really strong suck would latch on properly then somehow let go a bit and take a bit of nipple with them - had to be really fast and watch them like a hawk for first couple weeks, and keep reattaching them.

My dd had a good latch but I had cracked and bleeding nipples the first time round - but it did get better, after about 2 months they toughened up. DD2 was a breeze (possible because of previously mentioned toughened nipples). Lansinoh is very good.

It is as painful as hell when you have sore nipples - like someone grinding glass into them and I came very close to stopping myself but DH wouldn't let me (which I am so grateful for now, though I hated him for it at the time)but it does get better if you can bear it.
