HELP - bf 7mo suddenly sick after every feed

not just possetting, but the whole lot

cosleeping and have changed sheets twice tonight already

seems much worse if she feeds lying down

seems so cruel to deny her but it just all comes back up

explosive green nappies too

she's alert and well in herself apart from that
but her wet nappies seem lighter than normal
and I'm up pumping because I'm hugely engorged (unheard of) so she must be eating less than normal

emergency docs Monday AM?
A&E in the morning?

offer feeds on her cues and prepare to mop?
or offer feeds more frequently and hope they'll be smaller?
or don't offer feeds?
offer dioralyte or similar?

(she doesn't go much for solids atm anyway)

Poor you! I can remember nights like these.

Changing the bed twice is no fun even without the worry...

Does she happen to have a cold? This happened with DS2 when he was swallowing too much mucus and his tummy was filled with it.

With the nappies being explosive as well, it sounds more like a gastric bug though, doesn't it?

In your shoes, I would keep an eye on her and if she remains well in herself and continues to have wet nappies then feed her when she wants.

I would not offer dioalyte because breast milk is mild enough and hydrating as well.

I might offer feeds if she starts to lose interest but be prepared to mop it up.

I hope it passes quickly.

MrsB - I'm not one to panic but I think NHS direct or emergency doctor now.

Any other symptoms? Do you feel this is serious? Is she getting worse rather than better?

Babies can get dehydrated very quickly if they are vomiting. I would give NHS direct a call. Have you tried giving her some cooled bolied water to see if she can keep that down? just little bits at a time. Please give NHS direct a call, I wouldn't advise that you leave it until tomorrow. I hope she's feeling better soon.

much better, thank you!

got one lot of Calpol to stay down which helped a LOT
happy and perky, no sick since yesterday morning, nappies returning to normal
