Hi,

Still breastfeeding and coming up to 6 months and started weaning DS but i read all the books and seems like you should offer milk then solid but my feeding plan does always got to the book ?

Anyone else ?

And i cant tell DS still getting enough and my head is trying to get round weaning routine, pureeing foods freezing foods, expressing, sterilzing ... just a being a mum i suppose ...

Have you had a look at aitchs blog? It's about a different kind of weaning that your DS would be fine with as he is six months. No need for purees etc.

'Food until one is just for fun', he isn't really getting much from it except tastes and textures at this age so I'd try to give milk beforehand as often as possible and not fret over his food intake too much.

As long as his main source of nutrition is milk and he is still giving plenty of dirty nappies he's probably getting plenty.
Try not to worry, weaning should be an enjoyable time where they get to experiment, not when you worry about their intake or have to faff around with all the pureeing etc.

The way I am doing it is 3 meals a day, each with a bf starter with a bf snack inbetween. The bf will gradually be replaced with solids until there is just a bf in the morning and last thing at night at about 12 months old.

That's the theory anyway.

TBH shell, IMO it's never worth following a book per se, just reading them to see if you can find any tips you may think you can work with and tweak a little.
They are, after all, made to sell for profit, not to aid us no matter how they word themselves.
Just pick up the bits you think would work in your routine and work round them, and have some fun!
Nothing better than the mess a 6month old can make with some spaghetti
