Babycarrot is 26 weeks today, so we just wanted to say...

...thank you.

THANK YOU !!!

We have hit the milestone of 26 weeks exclusive breastfeeding.

And I have been so fortunate to have received wonderful support and sound advice from the kind mumsnetters who frequent these threads. Who have listened to me panic, and fret, and doubt myself. Who have shared their stories of their mini babies, who have helped me to chill out a little over my "failure to thrive" baby, and who have reassured me when I've felt low. I have learned so much from you all.

And breastfeeding my baby has been the most wonderful, wonderful experience. One which I plan to continue for as long as my little girl wants to. I love it, and so does she. I wish that every mum that wants to breastfeed could have the support they need. Because this feeling is priceless.

So, to everyone who has taken the time to talk to me over the last 6 months, please accept my gratitude for your kindness. You have played your part in babycarrot making it to 6 months on mummy's milk alone.

She may not be the poster girl for breastfeeding, since she's still the skinniest baby on the block, but she is perfect, and beautiful, and cheeky, and mine. And I am proud.

And thankful.

Ta, ladies.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Stealthy, I probably am going to offer her something suitably BLW-ish this week, like, oo, pear? nana? dunno yet. Suggestions welcome!
(may have to take a look on the weaning threads)

feel soppily silly about offering solid food, as it marks the end of the era when she was exclusively fed by me alone.

I do realise how daft that sounds, though.

Especially when I bet she doesn't actually take anything in for ages!

I thought I was seeing things with this thread

My babycarrot is One today. What a coincidence. Don't know where the year has gone really.

a suck of some melon and a smidge of banana.

I am formally migrating to the weaning boards. My baby is all grown up now.

ooh it does feel weird, doesn't it? especially as you fought so hard to feed her exclusively on carrot juice... bloody well done, i wish i'd had MN when i was (failing to) df dd.

and a suck of melon and a smidge of banana! how Faaaaabulous, well done that beautiful carrot. (she looks like a french princess, i think, you know, from those old paintings when they all had short hair and a wee cap and enormous eyes? lovely)
