My ds2 is 15wks zand is now ff. Very contented normally. Feeds every 3hrs during day and then wakes once in night for feed, straigght back to sleep, then up about 7am.

The past couple of nights he has been sort of waking every couple of hours, just grizzling really. Im leaning over to his crib, putting dummy in and a few rocks of crib. He goes back off only to repeat an hour of so later.

Not sure if its the dummy thing, though hes not normally that bothered or maybe wind?

Im using colief, but im trying to reduce it as im not even convinced he ever had colic. Maybe its that?thanks

hi - is there a chance that you are responding to your ds too soon? my ds wakes and I leave him for a while. Sometimes he needs my help to resettle but sometimes he manages it himself.

Maybe, but i dont think it is.Iused to resond really quick with ds1 so i know what you mean. Dont want to start that again.

I think its worse when they are still in your room because you are conscious of waking everyone else up.

It almost sounds l;ike like something is unsettling him the way he cries.

teething maybe? is he drooling more? have you felt along his gums?

I understand about the in the same room thing; I had to go against current guidelines and move DS into his nursery at 5 weeks otherwise I would have gone insane. He was such a noisy sleeper....over Christmas we were sharing a room with him again and i realised that any noises DH or I made (coughing in sleep etc) could sometimes wake him.

growth spurt. you usually get them at 12, 16, and 18weeks, but there's no reason why it couldn't be earlier than these, they're just averages

Do you know what? Ive thought about the teething isue. He has been dribbling loads lately and he bites on his thumb/hand like there no tomorrow and bite on my finger too if gets the chance. The things is he is really settled in the day, even if he is biting his hand so it wouldnt just be the night he was uncomfortable.

As for the sleeping in our room, im definietly putting him in his room before i go back to work in a couple of months. I do think we disturb him just by getting into bed ourselves.

He has just gone straight back to sleep after his feed so he must be tired.

unfortunately for growth spurt riding it out is all you can do. he may be like it all day but you dont notice it as you're able to distract him or feed him or do whatever during the day, but at night you cant

he could be, you'll never know until he gets them through, although if you cant feel anything on gums it would be unlikely. sometimes they move around and babies can feel that but it would only last a day tops. you could try bonjela if your desperate. not sure of age, think its 12wks so you could try it and see.
