ds2 is just 2 wks - ds1 is 19 months, I ex bf him till 7 months and loved it but this time its hard going, I'm finding it really restrictive... like I can't take ds1 out on his own as I have no idea when ds2 will feed, and its too chuffing cold to feed him on a park bench (which I did with ds1 because he was a summer baby) I miss ds1 loads as just when we settle to do something ds2 wants feeding, it also doesn't help that ds2 doesn't want to be put down ever - tried a sling and he hates it so having to carry him... am getting very tempted to break out the formula so I can get dh to help - please anyone reassure me that this will get better!

It will get better. It's not the bfeeding thats going badly it's just that you didnt know how much harder it was going to be with a toddler on the scene. When DD2 came along I felt so sad for DD1 and guilty that i couldnt spend the time with her that i had before. You just have to lower your expectations for a while. Try and find ways to do stuff with your DS1 that fit in around the baby's demands. Actually i think DS1 will be happy just to have you around and talking to him, reading and having a quiet winter life till spring comes and DS2 is becoming a wee friend for him.
I also found bfeeding in general harder the second time around as i was constantly being interrupted by DD1 and her needs.

C-Beebies or equivalent on without guilt whenever ds2 wants a feed, with ds1 cuddled up next to you (Or a book, if that makes you feel better )

It does get easier! Honestly!

thanks for replying - not much time to post back! we're getting there - poncho was a disaster, more of an issue of not being able to get up and stop ds1 running off/falling off slide etc whilst feeding when out (asked dh to take a back seat to see if I could do it - failed but he rescued me )
only saving grace is its christmas and we have loads of new toys - we did manage to get out to a soft play today and dh held ds2 whilst I played which was lovely - dreading when dh goes back to work on wed... any more tips for surviving? ds1 not interested in cbeebies at all he watches it for 2 seconds, whilst I talk about whats going on on the programme, then he wanders off and I get stuck watching some absolute rubbish - I forget to pick up a book before I start feeding so not tried that but he really doesn't sit still... I think I just need more sleep!
