I got lots of positive comments when feeding dd in Morocco - mostly along the lines of 'isn't she lucky, it's so sad to see so many babies with bottles these days'

My doctor praised me yesterday for still BFing at 25 weeks and told me to "keep up the good work"

I was lucky enough to only receive positive comments about bf my DD. Ranging from how well she's growing - you both look so well - and isn't she sleeping well at night must be the bm!

MY Health Visitor always tells me how well I've done and how well DD2 is doing. Mind you she is one of the only people who have told me that = dd2 is 9 and a half months. People round me are starting to think Im weird for still feeding her

i BF my DD until she was 6 months and heard a massive range of comments good and bad
i had a woman say i was amazing!!
i also had a woman with a v. small child call me disgusting!! i just laughed at her and said i know i must have forgot to change my bra before i came out... she looked puzzled and walked away!!
i was told that my child would be extremely intelligent (i was a visibly proud mummy nat that one!!)
i was also told that my baby was fat because my diet must have been making my BM fatty by a HV!! my DD was on the 95th percentile from birth and has steadily stayed there right up until now ( shes 22months) i said are you stupid?? a newborn cant be called fat!! and she apologised hastily!!
i have had the various keep up the good work comment etc!!
i think it is the most natural thing in the world and so you should think it is amazing that you can singlehandedly keep another life healthy just by whippin out a bap every few hours!! (im a BF'er cant you tell!!)
xx ei xx

no one has ever said anything. have gotten smiles from people along with disapproving glances unfortunately. (in mamas and papas cafe of all places from women) and i always feed with ds and norks covered with a shawl...so goodness only knows what their issue was.
am not surprised that more women dont bfeed. out of approx 10 women in the cafe only 2 us were bfeeding.

When feeding DD at a family party, cousin's four-year-old daughter came over to stare at DD nosily suckling away. After enquiring whether my 'boobies had milk in them', she concluded ' THAT is really clever'.

numerous. it has been one of the most validating expereinces (as well as one of the toughest!)

my mum and wee sis have both said how proud i am. we are not a demonstrative family - it meant so much to me. wee sis is now determined to bf when/ if she has a bubba.
