QUICK QUERY: antibiotics and bfing

Am about to head off to GP as have had persistnet cough for 2 weeks. Think it's turned into a chest infection as am getting rather wheezy. I am girding my loins for an argument over continued bfing (DS is 13 mo). Is there anyone who can offer quick advice re safe antibiotics to take, provided they give me some? Anything else I should know?

If I do have to stop bfing for a few days, is that it or is there any chance of re-establishing at this age? If I have to stop fine, but I'd like to carry on till DS is 2 if I can.

Erythromycin is safe. I took it when LO was about 4 months and exclusively bf. It can give LO diahorrea, but my LO did not seem to mind this at all. I would continue feeding.

I should have added that DS only feeds at night, so there may be a difference than a fully bf baby?

Yes, I should think so. My DS was still feeding virtually all the time when I took the antibiotics.

Fairly sure Amoxycillin must be safe also since my 3mo has had two lots himself so far!
