Infant feeding

First tooth- will i get bitten?

I'm currently feeding baby number four and he is almost six months old. This is the furthest that I've got with breastfeeding any of my babies before and now he has sprouted a tooth!

Should i expect to be bitten? Has anyone nursed a baby who has never bitten and has anyone got any tips on managing a biter?

I'm really enjoying nursing and don't want to give up- just getting nervous!!!

Well done for getting further than you have before .

I have had tiny nips from dd, usually when she first gets a new tooth and isn't used to it, but I've never had a full on bite (she's 20 months and has 12 teeth).

Best advice if he does bite is to pull him in to the breast. Sounds a bit counterintuitive, but then they can't breath through their nose, so let go with their mouth, and soon learn that this is what happens if they bite, so they stop biting.
