BF causing tiredness/lack of energy?

From another thread there seems to be a lot of anecdotal evidence that BFing older kids can cause mums to get run down. I go back to full time work when my baby's 6 months old and my job can be very mentally and physically demanding, with quite long hours. I'm planning to continue BFing for as long as possible though, but for financial reasons I need to be able to work.

Have people found this to be a problem or have they got round it? Any tips? And what sort of supplements should I think about - Vitamin D worries me because up here in the frozen North we don't get a lot of daylight at the best of times.

I carried on taking my Sanatogen preggy supplements - a lot of supermarkets/chemists now do their own brands too - which worked out cheaper. I didn't feel run down particularly - judging by the other thread, I'm guessing it's because I was taking the vits, so iron aplenty

CSB. You only need 10mins daylight exposure on your face/hands to meet your vit D requirement. Plus us pale skinned Celts convert light (if that's the right term, probably not!) to vit D extremely efficiently - which is handy

Thanks. Good news about the pale-skinnedness ... my DP says I'm so pale I'm blue.

And FioFio, you sounds JUST like my Mum ...
