My health visitor has recommended it because we think I'm not making enough. DD is 12wks old and my 4th. She's feeding every two hours in the day and has over the last wk stopped sleeping for lengths at night and started needing feeds every 3 hours or more. She's really unsettled in the day and just seems hungry only an hour after a 30 min feed. Anyway, domperidone. Good, bad, what have you heard?

DS takes Domperidone, it's for his stomach acid? is that the same one?

I never heard of it being used for anything else but i am sure someone else will be along to give you advice soon.

yes. Apparently it's an anti-sickness drug which also happens to stimulate the production of prolactin.

I'm currently taking this and I think it's helped although I still don't have a full supply. A good friend who is a paediatrician told me not to worry about taking it as they give it direct to babies for digestive issues. You will have to order it via the internet, or tell your pharmacist you need it for digestive issues unless you have a sympathetic doc who will prescribe it - it's available over the counter for digestive issues but not for bfeeding.

yes i have had it, gives digestive system a rocket so enormous poos! gives milk a bit of a boost as well.

but in general more feeding = more milk. do you have any reason to think something else is amiss? otherwise is classic time for growth spurt

thanks. I have a great health visitor who spoke to my GP, got the prescription, collected the tablets and delivered them to me by 10.30am the next day! They do seem to be working though which is fab! My poor baby is now actually more content and is even sleeping today!
