inability to latch on in 2 week old

my 2nd baby is just a fortnight old but acting very confused with bf...he was initially a very keen and able little sucker but has just started fussing and refusing to latch on.

not all the time - maybe 2 feeds a day - he gets the nipple in his mouth but bobs on and off without even sucking before screaming himself silly.

is it my let down? or what? really usefully it tends to be the 4am feed that always makes him scream. just the time you want to be fumbling round with bottles etc...

i seem to remember dd being like this and it was very annoying, waving my breast in her face while she screamed away. i don't know why she did it and it didn't last too long. i suspect she was overhungry and couldn't cope with the wait between feeling hungry and getting milk. i also had a very fast let down that caused separate problems but that involved her latching on first then pullling on and off during the feed, which doesn't sound like your ds.
second ohmum on the thrush, worth covering all bases to be sure
