Infant feeding

First night out/babysitter approaching, what do I do about the wind?

My exclusively bf 5mo is fed to sleep at the moment at night, but usually wakes up anything from 10 mins to an hour later with wind, despite my spending several minutes trying to get burps out of her. When she wakes she cries and sounds as if milk has gone up her nose. Occasionally she'll settle back without the breast but most nights I have to feed her again to get her back to sleep, whereupon she sometimes wakes again.

I give her infacol before bed to try to bring up the wind.

In a month's time I am going out for the eve once she has gone down, but am worried that she'll wake up with wind and won't resettle without my boob to hand, as it were.

Also - she won't take a bottle (although I have to admit to not having persevered with this one) or a dummy so grandma and grandad might be faced with a hard night!

Suggestions please?!

Will she take milk from a cup or a spoon? DD also refuses bottles but will take milk from a cup if it's on offer.

Actually she would take it from a Doidy cup, well a little bit anyway ...

but I am really wondering what's going on with the wind ... is she getting milk up her nose?
