Infant feeding

Changed formula and now have VERY farty baby

My 9 week old is mainly BF but still takes a very long time over it (she was 4 weeks early so is still quite little). For my own sanity she has a bottle last thing at night and sometimes a top up at her early evening feed of formula (or expressed BM sometimes).
I was giving her SMA Gold as she had this in the hospital when she was born and seemed to be OK with it. She was pooing several times a day but in the last couple of weeks it is only every 3 days or so. Doctors, HV etc say this is fine but the HV suggested I tried Aptimil as this can help on the pooing front.
I've been giving this to her the last couple of days but she is now farting all the time and seems to be in real discomfort and having trouble settling.
Was wondering whether I should keep using Aptimil and see whether she settles down or go back to SMA. (Maybe she's just being very gassy and the change in formula is just a coincidence?)
Any advice? Thanks

I would go for the one he has been better with. If he was better with the previous one, no need to keep using another one that doesn't agrees with him.

jem, all my sons who were fully bf, stopped pooing quite so much at around 8 weeks and I really wouldn't expect one bottle of formula a day to change that too much. I would go back to the SMA.

my ds staring pooing every 2-3 days when on aptamil so it can happen with any formula. I'd go back to the one your lo was happy with

Thanks for your replies. I know I should go back to SMA really. Just wanted someone to tell me it was the sensible option!
