My 11 months old baby doesn't want any bottles at all. He has 8 oz with his breakfast but refuses to drink any from bottles or cups. What can I do? he is not taking enough milk and I'm a bit worried.

offer milk before you give him solids?

make up his intake in dairy products and milk in foods, etc. From 1 year they only need 350mls (approx 12oz) inclusive of other milk sources and he is not far off that now so i wouldnt worry too much

Xana - my DS was not really fussed about milk either from around 12 -13 months. I just give him lots of other dairy - cheese, yoghurt etc which he loves. Also ice cream

DS2 was like this too and after having a milk monster for DS1 I couldn't believe that a baby could not drink milk! He just didn't want it - not even before bed.

Try not to worry about it and give him lots of cheese and yogurt and stuff

xana - is this recent? could he be a bit poorly/teething? Also make sure his bottles are separate from meal times. I fed DD upon waking, then before morning nap, about 3.30pm then at bedtime. She had 3 meals in between and have only just started snacks at 1 year. I think solid snacks can fill them up when you really want them to have milk in some babies. I worried so much about fitting these snacks in when really she did not need it yet.

Make breakfast a milky cereal and you can fit in loads on extra milk.
