Infant feeding

a question about poo!

I am a first time poster and my little boy is 9weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. He poos regularly and as far as I can tell its typical breastfed poo (mustardy yellow with seedy bits in). He has just been and this poo, was the same colour but was much more like mucus with no seedy bits, it also sounded much "wetter" as he was pooing. Other than that he seems fine. Should I be worried about the mucus poo? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks Pippins

If it is green then he may have a poorly belly, otherwise i'm sure its fine. Their poo changes all the time, don't worry.

at tis age my son had the same problem he was constipated one minute loose the next its just the milk and there digestive systems getting used to it but if he goes off feed could be bug see gp but if feeding fine will sort itself out my son had soft poo for ages which apparently was normal the mustard seeds as i called them was a sign of constipation just the milk as it normally starts going more solid again when on solids

if really concerned then ask hv but sounds normal to me

OK, time to admit, my dd had same, I was so concerned once I took her to the GP - always the best option I reckon if you're worried!

I eventually panicked less when I saw the poo before she peed on it, I thought hers were far too runny but then realised the wee diluted it in the nappy, panic over!!

That's just me & dd's poo, if you are worried, keep eye on her & see gp if concerned, if not stay on poo watch, it gets even more interesting when they are on solids!!
